1986 - FRANK ZAPPA, Crossfire: biggest threat to America today not communism; it's moving America towards fascist theocracy AWESOME

John LOFTON (Washington Times): Our families are under attack from people like you with these lyrics.

Frank ZAPPA: Could I make a comment about National Defense: the biggest threat to America today is not communism. It's moving America toward a fascist theocracy. And everything that's happened under the Reagan Administration is steering us right down that pipe.

Tom BRADEN: Wait a minute, give me one example of a fascist theocracy.

ZAPPA: When you have a government that prefers a certain moral code derived from a certain religion, and that moral code turns into legislation to suit one certain religious point of view, and if that code happens to be very very right wing, almost toward Atilla the Hun...

LOFTON: Well then you are an anarchist. Every form of civil government is based on some kind of morality Frank.

ZAPPA: Morality in terms of behavior, not in terms of theology!

LOFTON: well of course, but look, I mean, I couldn't believe in terms of your lyrics, I mean, uh....

NOVAK: Wait a minute gentlement, we have to take a break now.

I'm moving to Montana. Definitely time to start that crop of dental floss. But in the winter stay away from where them huskies go.

I thought so. It's obvious you have no idea.
You should learn a bit more about those of whom you speak.

Wow.
I love Mr. Zappa. His political views mirror my own it seems. And the Facist Theocracy is seemingly weeks away now. I wonder how he really died...

I thought I should add; Don't you eat that yellow snow!

I was thining he wasn't that aware of whome he spoke, as well.. but then again I considered the odds were 50/50

gave him benefit of the doubt.

I completely agree, though I don't know much about his politics. Didn't he run for president once?

Hey Skipper, have ya heard of Jesus? Well, St. Frank is a kinda like Jesus, but, more entertaining and a better mustache.
Oh the times we've had at St. Alphonzo's Pancake Breakfast.
He once told me his guitar wanted to kill my momma.
His association with Shiek Yurbuti is legendary.

Quite a man, Frank.
