Dear Senator,

I respectfully request that you send me and my family my bail-up package immediatly. You can start by sending us $7,000. We might request more if we find that you haven't sent us enough money the first time around.

By my reckoning $700 Billion divided by 100 million taxpayers comes to $7,000 each. You are not allowed to ask me how I will use the money. I might use it to buy guns, gold and ammunition or I might use it to pay off some of my creditors. Again it's my damn business.

Seeing as how money is so tight for some of these money lenders I might just hold a reverse auction and let them offer to reduce the balances due them in exchange for a complete payoff.

For example one credit card company might offer me .20 cents on the dollar for a payoff on the balance due and another might only offer me .40 cents on the dollar. Obviously I would offer to payoff the credit card that offered me the 20% payoff first. Let the other credit card company continue to make interest off of my debt but only on 40% of the debt.

BUt then again it would be my call on who I decide to payoff first.

Speaking of payoffs once you commit to sending me my bail-up package I promise that I will vote to re-elect you. You won't have to run around the state begging for campaign donations like a cheap whore, because you will have already bought my neighbors and my vote.

Sincerely,

American tax receipient

I wish that you would. We're gonna be in a world of hurt if we continue to let these criminals steal our money.

I'm not an American, but that is quite a good post.

If trickle down economics is supposed to make sense, so should trickle up!

Bah, rattle them for all they've got.

You know,I have been broke for the last 20 or so years, and never got bailed out.

Isn't The US government supposed to be"by the people, for the people"?
Not "paid for by the people, screw the people".

BTW,great letter In nothing we trust. Its a darn shame we'll never see a bail out package for Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Taxpayer.

unfortunatly your math is incorrect. There are 300 million people living in this country so the math would work out like this...

$700,000,000,000.00 / 300,000 = $2333.34

But ill send my senitors your letter as well
I think everyone should. Wall street screwed up, not the American taxpayer, why should we be bailing out failed businesses.

The collapse of these businesses will not affect me, I can assure you of that, I have no home for them to forclose on, I have no pension to not get. So if they collapse who am I to care?

The math maybe incorrect, but the logic and fairness is right on.

Thumbs up to this way of thinking. Time to empower ourselves instead of those who abuse the powers we give them.

I'm quite sure he said taxpaying citizens. You must take into account that not every citizen is paying taxes. We have children, stay-at-home parents, etc. Can someone look up the actual number of tax paying citizens?

edited to add:

from wiki ...

Tax distribution
As of 2007, there are about 138 million taxpayers in the United States,[8] including many who pay zero income tax,[9] estimated to about a third of all tax filers.

Well theres 305+ million population US total if you went by that number it would be over 2 trilon dollars to send that out.

What might be better is give homeowners the money they need to pay off their houses which would pull them out of debt plus place the money back into the hands of the agencies that are falling and causing this whole mess therefor remedy'ing it this time.

Then the govt can cut back on black projects to cover the cost of what was put out. Thus fixing it "this time/for now"

Wouldn't solve the underlying problem but would at least give plenty more time to fix the problem at it's core.

Of course we all know none of this would or will ever happen.

The bailout is actually closer to a trillion dollars (said with pinky in mouth).

$700 billion plus the AIG and Fannie and Freddie bail out figures.

That said, trickle up economics don't work. Case in point, the pathetic stimulus package that went out to anyone who made less than $75,000 ($150,000 for married folks).

The only two industries that saw marked increases in revenues in the quarter after that money went out were porn and gambling.

Excuse me but is that 23 thousand or hundred?

NOW OP, You Rock! PLEASE send that to your representatives! let us know the response if any.

That was so cool...

You know not a bad idea either, If we the people propose this to congress, I wonder if we would have any takers?

Only problem I have with this whole bail out is that if something was to happen and the people who have defaulted on their Mortgages get some Federal funding, then what about the poor saps like myself that have gone with holes in the floor and leaks in the roof, no fun and entertainment for my kids other than cheap to free for the past couple of years to MAKE that damn mortgage payment?

I think the stimulous was a freaking failure as it just went in the pockets of the same companies that are creating franken foods so we reply on the big pharma when we get sick and bloated from the gmo products on the shelves and all we can afford.

Its a viscious circle of decit and consumer fraud. One way would be to have people apply for federal loans to pay off past and current mortgages. All I need is 15,000 and Im done, then I can start paying off the dumb credit which has fed my family for the past year. There could be a cap, I mean how many payments before you loose your home? If we could apply for say up to 20,000 per house hold, it would help.
