South Africa has some really beautiful stuff as well. This site has some basic stuff:

africanadrenalin.com...

My Favorites:

Gods Windows
africanadrenalin.com...

Blyde River Canyon
africanadrenalin.com...

Bourkes Luck Potholes

And a google search of the Sudwala and Cango caves in SA also will get you some pretty nice pics.

The Sudwala caves are the oldest known in the world

Check out their website:

This may not 'qualify' as such as it is man made, but one has to marvel at the Kimberly hole in South Africa.

Love this thread - many great images!

First pictures of the thread are Socotra Island if anyone is interested. Amazing place, would like to go and visit there.

Thought I should maybe include this place in this thread of amazing places:

The view from the top of the world.

And this place, purely because its just odd.

Beautiful pictures, all....

Is anyone capable of putting these on a CD? Unless they're copyrighted, of course....they would make a fabulous selecton of 'wallpaper' for a computer screen!

Here is a submerged forest. Wish I knew where it was at.

Great photos
but
I thought this was a painting ?

"Dreamscapes" began as an exercise in poured paint. I started the series with the non-objective "Breathing Under Water". As they progressed, the paintings took on evermore realistic features as I discovered trees and mountains taking shape on the canvas, so that the final painting in the series, "Sweet grass Spirit" is the most realistic of them all.

Poured paint is unpredictable and often as much a surprise to the artist as to the viewers. The titles of the paintings reflect my emotional response to the finished paintings. I invite the viewers to reject my titles and find their own dreams there.

All of the paintings in the series are 24x30 inch acrylic on canvas, $400.

If you're referring to the Original Post then it is Socotra Island off the coast of Yemen.

The pictures in that link are incredible! Though, I don't think the one who put them there took all of them(one of them had National Geographic on it).
If you scroll down and read the comments, the one by "Jesus" was unexpected and made me laugh.

How about some rain forest images? These always remind me of something other worldly.
