Okay, I recently got some insider info on this subject. If I disappear after this post, you'll all know what happened...

Every year, all of the ATS staff have a staff retreat. Of course, they never tell us about it because
a) there would be mayhem on the boards while they're out
b) they're afraid some of you might find out where it is

Anyway, here is where the Super Mods stay on staff retreat:

And here is where the regular Mods stay:

I think that speaks to the difference, don't you?

You have to take geographics into play. Being Canadian, this is our domocile:

It's all good Heike. If you vanish, I've been backing this thread up onto a CD that will be mailed to a undisclosed location upon your vanishing. You shall be avenged.

The biggest difference between being a super mod and a regular mod for me is that the colours scheme on the Super mod title goes much better with my avatar than the Forum moderator title did.

My promotion to Super was a case of mistaken identity - I was mistaken for someone who makes worthwhile contributions and actually does something.

Yes and we see how well that worked.

I was on double secret probation as a mod but I was able to sneak a horse into Dean Wormer's office so I was granted the status of SuperMod....don't get me started about the pledge pin.

I confess that it's only a rumor, but is it true that upon becoming a moderator, you get the secret handshake, a code ring, and when they ask "do you want fries with that," you get them free?

And is it true that upon becoming a supermoderator, you are granted an audience with the Queen?

Gosh! As a lad, I used to think that my biggest dream would be to become a millionaire some day. Now at 58, and I confess, upon discovering ATS recently, that millionaire stuff is crap.

I want to be a MODERATOR.

Right now, my points are so far into the hole, I can't even see zero from here. How many years (it is a matter of concern at my age) will it take for me to break even?

And after that . . . hey, it's possible isn't it?

According to my informant, if you ever ASK to be a moderator or state that you want to be one, you're automatically disqualified!

Quick, edit your post before anyone else sees it!!!

Too late, it's burned into my mind.

Dang! Wasn't fast enough.

Sounds a bit like the Army.

"Who wants to be point?"

"Not me, I just got here and it would probably be a lot better if someone with experience . . . "

"You're point."

And then there were my all-time favorites.

"Need volunteers. You, you, and you."

"I don't remember volunteering."

"You did. And you just volunteered for tomorrow too!"

Do Super Mods retain "Les Droit de seigneur" or "ius primae noctis" over the regulars?

And along came an owner who frowned upon the point deficit of one who ultimately "got it", was cool and made it (the point deficit that is) go away.

Oh heck yeah, we need all sorts of things round here, a nice, new Mercedes 600 comes to mind right off the bat.

600 Series! What are you Russian mob?

I thought ATS honchos drove unmarked/tinted Crown Vics.

Yugos for the mods.

Trying to sleep tonite, I just couldn't get comfortable with all the tin foil tucked into my sleeping cap. Upon removal, a synthesized computer voice appeared within my mind informing of an Super Above Top Secret order of ATS Moderators who utilize robotic body armor suits.

I think the voice called them 'Mighty Morphin' Power Mods'...

Is there any 'truth' to this? A U2U would be fine, I understand that we might not want this getting out... sheesh, why is this thread not in RATS anyway?

i've also heard that super mods get free burgers and coke with their mod fries!
if they want free ketchup they nee admin-status
that is whay ATS has so few admins, most supermods just don.t like ketchup!

Oh, I understand that... but it seems too dangerous for the world to know the true power of the Mods/Super Mods/Mighty Morphin' Power Mods....

Much too dangerous...
