6th Man On Moon Announces Were Not Alone On Kerrang Radio?

This was mentioned on BBC Radio 2 (UK) This afternoon so it has had some impact. There were a few people talking about the subject today at work, also when I went out to get my lunch some people in the cafe were talking about it.

From most of what I heard people are now accepting Aliens are real and they aint all that bad.

i think its quite sad what edgar mitchels coming out with.

he's never seen a ufo or an Alien being yet he's procaliming they are visiting earth and in contact becuase of what someones told him?

someone tells him a story or rumour and he starts reciting it as fact. He should know better.

I think this all stems from the near religous experience he had on return from the moon. I've heard him describe what he felt and i think he made up his mind there and then there must be other intelligent civs out there. Then he starts looking into it and people tell him some famous stories like roswell and he falls for it hook line & sinker.

for him to say roswell was an alien crash beggars belief and shows how much crap he's been spoon fed and buys into.

Yeah regardless of this guy's credibility or lack thereof, at least this is hitting the mainstream. More awareness leads to discussion which in my view is only a good thing. I just hope all this doesn't die down after the x-files movie hype dissippates.

So how many former Astronaut, NASA Employees and foreign Govt Officials have made these claims now?
Anyone keeping count because I lost count a while back.
Does this mean that just because these people represent a Space Organization or a Govt that they cant lie? No, but why would they lie ro go out on a limb like this?
Sorry but I havent read the entire thread and I dont recall him stating that he's actually met or seen an alien or UFO or as some people call it"space debris"
but if memory serves, isnt there an astronaut or two that HAVE come forward and claimed to have seen unusual craft while in space.
I dont know what the secrecy zealots of the world are afraid of.
Disclosure would would of course put some people in a state of shock, at least temporarily but after that initial shock, most people would ask quite a few questions, then accept it and move on.

telling people that aliens exist is not the problem... sure we would get over the shock... most of the world already accepts this from movies and even the Vatican says its okay to believe in aliens (and probably have missionaries ready to convert Those Jesuits are a tenacious bunch)

The problem is the level of the secret

If they have been dealing with Aliens in secret for 50 years, have gotten technology and not shared with us, have space fleets paid for by tax dollars and already have bases on Luna and Mars..

THEN it makes a diiference...

IF some of this technology is linked to steath and military issues... then it touches on national security and you will never find out

IF there is a 'war' out there you won't hear about it until we are losing and they are about to land.. then they will need 'all hands on deck' and you will see it on CNN

That is the reason for secrecy... and no one knows the level... we all are just guessing

Now think about this..

IF it came out that our government has allowed Aliens to abduct several million people for experimentation in return for whatever...

Do you really think the people would just 'get over it'?

What's Mitchell's credibility? I know he's a "rocket scientist" who has walked on the moon 40 years ago, but is he still sane? Has he said anything like this before.

Wow, just goes to show ya', the Man tells a story about stories he has heard and boom it is all over the net as MUST BE SO! Lol. I find it very irresponsible on his part. Doesn't he know there are young folks and others who are just now learning how to reason who will take his stories as proof of ET and thier spaceships? Well just here today, I've seen the Mods have to close several threads of the same content under different named titles. Edgar needs to release a press statement that reflects the facts.
Something on the lines of "I have heard and or been told the stories I have related over the years. Just because I am a former member of the astronaut corps does not mean I should be taken for granted."
He ought to be ashamed of himself really.

I suppose everyone's entitled to their opinion, whether they're just ordinary goofballs like you (okay, like you and me), or some guy who used to be an astronaut.

But whether it's you or me or an astronaut, I still like to have a little proof when it comes to aliens, since after all, they're unproven. Mitchell can certainly say what he likes, as can Buzz Aldrin and the rest. Them being astronauts doesn't automatically make their statements law and fact. Until they can produce the goods, just like everyone else has to, I'll just re-file the whole thing back in the cabinet as an opinion.

Yea, I get where you're coming from but some of these folks are young or otherwise not able to reason like your ability. I just think he should know that before he makes opinions with out disclaimers for those type folks.

No you miss the point... If you have ever talked to an insider you will hear the same talk... they will say things like "may or may not have been involved'

If you listen to Boyd Bushman videos on Youtube you will hear the same thing..

These people are all 'on the inside' and are still extremely limited to what they can get away with saying...

With this topic (and the support, flags, stars, etc for it) ATS has officially jumped the shark.

Are we so pathetic here that we are reduced to debating heresay and some folks actually come out in support of it? He has no proof, just things he claimed to have been briefed on. Why would anyone as public as an Apollo astrounaut be briefed on that kind of information if it existed?
Can anyone else think of any classified programs that famous people get read into?

In case anyone missed it, CAPT Mitchell finished his "illustrious" career with NASA as a backup LMP (after serving as a primary LMP). Kinda says something, doesn't it?

I finally am frustrated enough to post a reply on ATS. First let me state that my frustration is not towards ATS or any members. It is with the governments of the world. How on earth can they continue their attempts to deceive the populace concerning Alien visitation to our little hamlet in the universe? Personally I have never experienced anything regarding UFO’s but over the years I have come across too many rational people who believe they have seen things that defy earthly explanations. Heck when I was a security specialist in the Air Force during the mid to late 80’s there was plenty of talk about these occurrences. I know I’m not stating anything new to any of you I just wanted to vent a little. The powers that be just need to come clean: the earth is round, there is no Easter bunny, and yes Virginia there is life on other planets and they have shown up at our front door. Thanks for listening
