Popups suck. Especially the ones that try and convince you to download something, or even worse mislead you and force you to download something.
Unfortunately not much has been done by our lawmakers to ban these horrible tactics, which I think is a travesty because by hijacking someone's
computer I believe you're committing theft at the very least.
It is our general policy to see to it that such ads do not ever appear on ATS, however because the ads are served by ad networks sometimes a stray one
may slip by and show up.
The best thing to do if you notice an ad that should not be on ATS is to please alert the ATS Administrators by posting to this
thread. We try to react as quickly as possible to remove the offending ad from
rotation.
As a general rule though, any of these things that claim to "speed up" your computer or "protect you from spyware" really do precisely the
opposite. A real product does not need to employ such unethical advertising tactics to get customers.
