I gave it a month to be reported, but since no one has:

en.wikipedia.org...

Just last month, this day, South America became one. No one mentioned it, so I'm just saying.

This is it, the US stands alone in a world of continental unions.

So, just a new topic to discuss. I'd like to take note of their Soviet-like flag. haha, I guess
. But don't judge a book by it's cover.

But what does this mean for us in America? EVERY continent is now united except North America.

Thanks for posting it. Was not aware at all. This unification is really popular lately. Well, at least they do not have common money yet. Also cannot wait for Venezuela to take its turn in the government rotation. Chavez knows how to make things ,well, interesting. And combining it with threads i saw earlier about Brazil building nuclear sub, buying aircrafts and such - it all fits.
Still.... Why it was not in the news?
And i loved that part of geographical South America is actually European union! I already assumed that political considerations overrule physical (and geographical) ones, and here it is proved.

Oceania...? George Orwell's 1984 gets closer and closer.

Soon, we will be taken in (pun intended), and then we can war with EU and whatever other Unions there are. Eternally.

Well i don't think any Union. I mean, we're not that dumb, yet. Probably will be EU, Africa, North America united, Asia united, and with South America going which ever way they think so.

Ironically enough, this KIND of does look like the map of 1984.

Also interesting: each union has PATRIOTS! and quite a few! South Americans believe they are building Bolivar's dream, Africans have been calling for a united Africa for eons, and Europe is mostly enjoying their union.

Asia, also has soviet-era feelings to unite, though not being soviet anymore.

so, if there are people supporting these things, who will bring them down?

Why is uniting our continent a bad idea? Is there not strength in numbers? I think so many Americans resist this idea from fear. I think they fear Canada and Mexico joining us, and we all know the Mexicans are hard workers who are the ones working most of our agriculture jobs here in the states. If all of this doomsday stuff truly goes down, well they would already know how to grow food and survive on much less than us. So who benefits least from unification? Lazy Americans unwilling to adapt to global change.

I really dont understand why this is a bad idea, for our futures. Does unification automatically equal slaves, or death? Why could it not mean new and improved, or progressive opportunities for us?

absolute power corrupts absolutely. simple as that.

There is a deep down feeling I get that maybe their uniting so they can progress humanity into unification. That part of me also wonders why unite now after so many centuries of knowing everything in the world like now, but just killing.

Could they be preparing us for some great challenge in space? Do they just want us to go forth and multiply throughout the stars based on their creeds? Or maybe they just feel like doing it now, for no reason at all; they held a global summit and they decided on unification rather then global war this century.

I don't know. But as the old saying goes, "better safe then sorry". Most would rather we wait until a more socialist, for the people government is in place, willing to discuss why they are doing it.

Who knows, maybe the leaders really are for NWO but not for slavery, but to unite us. Perhaps they really are humanitarian.

New nation, for the first time I would say yes.

This is not one of many doomed efforts of South American nations to "unite", but this time there is a key element that has been absent in all previous ones.

Brazil

Brazil , you see, is the only giant in the region and the only country that is big and strong enough to force any other country either by diplomacy or by force, they are the only ones that can sustain such a union.

On the other hand, this has been the objective of Brazilian foreign policy since the beginnings of Itamaraty, Brazil conquering South America, with the acquiescense of the region`s leaders they have accomplished their primary goal.

Sad day for South America, this will not be a union, this is the triumph of Brazilian diplomacy.

The problem is that it's NOT the people who are uniting. It is the lizard-hearted "overlords" who would find it much easier to control us of human heart. Uniform regulations, laws and identification.

If one country wants some laws and another wants different laws, an individual may choose which laws best suit them and strive to live where they like the laws best. With one big unit (and Martial Law - which they have been having "practice runs" in establishing), control is theirs, and we, the people, will have no choice.

Does this make sense to you?

Yes, it does make sense, thank you for explaining. And thank you to all who responded to my uestions, this is a fairly new subject for me to explore, NWO. I am very interested in it, and keep hearing about unification, of course mostly with negative connotations. Very interesting.

Wost welcome. I would say that if we all voted to become one, then we might have a good and beneficial result. But the way we are being herded into the fold, like so many sheep... Well, it just doesn't look good.

Yes, this is clearly awful news. Nations should go back to being constantly at war with each other, rather than being friends. Think back to Europe's heady days of total war - don't you just miss the death and mass destruction?

/sarcasm

Also, the title of this thread is completely wrong: no new nation has been created - this is a loose union of south American sovereign states.

It actually really surprises me that you guys act like this is new. This has been in the planning stages for a few years now.

If you followed regional politics then you'd have known about this a long time ago like I did, not that I expect everybody to follow it (it's neither logical not reasonable).

Hi HBT. I think we have only to look at the present EU to see what's wrong with it. Unfortunately, there hasn't been much press on it and I've seen only one thread here on ATS about it, but the EU govt have been trying to force through the Lisbon Treaty. It keeps getting defeated and they keep bringing it back until they get a yes vote. The Lisbon Treaty would destroy all sovereignty of all the EU countries, leaving all the EU countries powerless to decide their own fate or make laws. The thing is, no one wants to lose their soverieignty except the neocon rulers. But the Lisbon Treaty is being forced on them anyway. It's not right to go against the people's wishes, but that's what they're doing. There was a HUGE uprorar in Parliament last January, when they pushed the Lisbon Treaty and refused to take a vote by each country's reps.

In short, I think it's because of WHO is pushing for the NAU, that people are concerned.

The one good thing I can think of any one-world goverment scenario is that I'm not an American anymore, I'm a human (or Earthican
)

It is greatly applied that any NWO sceanrio equals the powerful Elite using their powers for evil and abosulute power. Isn't there another side of the coin that says that one world CAN be good for us?

Did it ever occur to you that we're united already? As in, the United States of America? We're still one of the largest geopolitical bodies on Earth--which is why I always get the giggles when people fret about the rest of the world forming unions.
"Oh, horrors, a political entity that approaches the United States in size and power! Surely, the end is nigh!"

And what exactly are you implying their aim is? Actually, I can guess by both the thread title and the alteration you've made to your signature. That's a very modest title, by the way--I could almost swear you needed a secret for there to be a whistleblower, but obviously Merriam and Webster are also Masons.
