What's there to debate with that one? Everyone knows that's a fact.

*returns to pub, stumbling in my stillettos through the door*

Good day all! My family have now departed and I can return to the rapid fire banter of this establishment!

I'm looking forward to the debate with OL about shoe shopping - I spent several days out with my mother and sister shoe shopping and bought myself these little Manolo Blahnik's, was hard to get them in size 11 but once I explained to my family my Stanislavski debating technique they gave me a pass.

OL and I, I know, both hope, this might be a pleasant diversion from the rigours of the tournament - though I do look forward to crushing her with my Vivienne Westwood block heels

It's quiet in here these days.

I never realized how "loud" SDog and Shock were.

They are missed.....

Sniff.....Sniff....

Does anyone here smell any conspiracy? I smell a conspiracy that the earth is not like as it was in the olden days.

I'm about to start defending the essential nature of shoe shopping, I am surrounded by my research paraphenalia, which in this case is my imagination
Why did St Thomas Aquinas never write the Summa Calceus?

A man defending that shoe shopping is essential for women?

I feel for you. As a woman, I couldn't even argue that position. Of course, change "shoe" to "jewelry" or "purses" and I could argue either all day long.

If, in quoting a famous exclamation, I were to type "a load of b*ll*cks!" would that be acceptable, or would I be snipped for using potty-mouth language?

I don't see why not. It is considered to mean "nonesense" and is derived from testicles. And I am pretty sure I can safely say not only:

TESTICLES and BALLS!!!!!!!

But also:

BOLLOCKS!!!!

And before any fresh-faced Mods start jumping the gun
Here's the wiki def.

""Bollocks" is a word of Anglo-Saxon origin, meaning "testicles". The word is often used figuratively in British English, as a noun to mean "nonsense", an expletive following a minor accident or misfortune, or an adjective to mean "poor quality" or "useless". Similarly, the common phrases "Bollocks to this!" or "That's a load of old bollocks" generally indicate contempt for a certain task, subject or opinion. Conversely, the word also figures in idiomatic phrases such as "the dog's bollocks" and "top bollock(s)", which usually refer to something which is admired, approved of or well-respected."

EDIT TO ADD:

I am off now to maybe begin writing my Closing. Of course I do still have my extension all nicely saved-up... So have the luxury of lollygagging while doing it.

And, there is yet another bit of useless knowledge to add to my brain. I'll probably never have the need to use it in real life, but now, I can say I know it.

Thanks, TWISI.....

Pretty good actually
My finger hurts more then the tooth, but putting THAT in some alcohol is probably a quick way to bring tears to my eyes.

I head to my (quack) of a dentist today to get the low down about what's going on, and I'm going to have him put me on some antibiotics as I'm pretty sure it's an infection. I have mid terms this week, as if I need to have tooth pain too. I slept all through the night, without any pain, so perhaps the infection is letting up...?

Thanks to you and TWISI for the advice

Excellent news!

Even if the infection isn't letting up on it's own yet, the fact that you got some much needed sleep is a big plus.

Here's hoping you get fixed up soon.
