Extinction level event...

Who can truly understand the chaos MemoryShock could have unleashed upon the universe with a 2 ton forkvehicle?

Let's just say that one night after I had been drinking someone's golf cart ended up on their rented connex (a 11 x 22 metal box used for living quarters)...

how wide is your background picture, dingbat?

kinglizard advised to do the backgroud picture 177 or 180 pixel width and 1000 pixel heigths, which worked very nicely with mine!

My background image is 180 wide by 450 long. It's not a big deal – it's just the back of a card with white buffering to space the tiling. But without seeing the right-hand corners I think it looks weird – it was supposed to look like a tarot card layout as it tiled down, but I don't think the "cardiness" comes across very well. I'm going to try to find or make a different card back, one that's more obviously a card – the one I have now is what was on one of the earliest Rider/Waite tarot decks, but it doesn't exactly scream "tarot card". Maybe I'll try cutting it down to 177 or 178 pixels wide too. It's just kind of frustrating that I spent 10000 points (there was another before this that was too busy) and ended up with something I'm not happy with, but I can't seem to make it go away either

@Mr. Shock: what is it with forklift drivers? All the ones I know are totally charming but kind of crazy.

If you think Mem on a 2 ton forklift sounds bad, try to picture The Vagabond atop an almost 40 ton wheel loader for the first time, doing work that everyone dang well knows would be WAY safer for a dozer (the hillarious thing is that there was a dozer in the shop- we didn't have the wrong tool for the job, so the boss went out and rented it).

We almost found out what it looks like when a 40 ton machine falls off a 30+ foot highwall and lands upside down on a rock crusher. I went ahead and let my union card expire after that one.

In in hindsight though, you could drop me off that cliff every day, from 9-5, just as fast as you could scrape me out of one loader and put me into another, if the price was right. But at the time I assumed that sooner or later I'd find a better job.

We have to balance our solitary hours in the forklift (where we are always concerned with safety) with a bit of craziness...

And yes, I was intoxicated while moving the golf cart to the roof but I had two ground people and one on the roof to help guide me...it was night time...

I wouldn't have done it if I thought I would fail...and he deserved it. He went into my office one night and screwed/bolted the couch/table/everything to the ceiling...

@Vag: hey, you're here! Are you gonna take down Sky or what? I'm jonesing for more fights
Can you get that union card back?

It just occurred to me that most of the forklift operators I know are Irish … at the risk of demonstrating ethnic prejudice, I wonder if blarney might be involved

Not a bad example, but just at the moment I'm not sure there is such a thing as "money I don't need"
