well there is another way i figured
even if they dont exist... yet
of course sightings of possible Werewolves have been recorded
so anyway if these Cursed souls do exist ive always wondered why not give God a call see if you make me one i thought of this because i thought >hmm why cant God make me a Werewolf hes/she constantly listening to People all around the world ( its his after all ) so what i have come to so far is that you need to be series about this because its going to be damn painful transforming< now you may come to believe that a "Werewolf" is a creature of the devil EEE WRONG a Werewolf is actually a cursed person to be forced into the shape of a ManWolf and loose some bolts and gears up stairs Werewolves are not evil in any way well only if they work for the devil or the Werewolf is just plane nasty so to all you "Werewolf Fans" try this sometime try some different times like outside on a full moon or at night or just when ever

I only have two problems with your theory.

1. I don't believe in god (at least not in a classical sense).

2. I don't believe in wherewolves (in any sense).

Just because I don't believe in the existence of warewolves does not mean I wouldnt change my mind in a heart beat if I found evidence contrary to my beliefs.

If I came across as a "dik" I appologise, it's been kind of a testy day for me.

That's a stunning wolf in that pic, were there any more shots of it available? (I'm a bit of a wolf aficionado...)

still looks like a wolf to me..... just in an awkward pose, and blowing the photo up makes it look strange... I think you get a better look at it normal size.... however, the coat seems to look a little patchy.... it may have some type of mange. What country was this photo taken in?

I've had a dream or two about werewolves in the past, so i'm surprised i didn't click on this topic sooner.



Anyway, i believe it's actually entirely possible to become a werewolf, it's just that the common conception of a werewolf is grossly exaggerated.

A man who believes he is a wolf will act like one, and over time he will become more and more feral.

At this point in time, i'll draw attention to the stories of kids who survived on their own in the wilderness being brought up by wild animals - they display all the characteristics of a wolf, and yet they are in the guise of a human.

It may be the case that these fables of werewolves were created back in olden days when wolves freely went about the old world without so much as a worry as to whether or not they would be hunted by a bunch of guys with bows and arrows, and the occasional poisoned deer carcass, as opposed to nowadays where if a wolf is found to be feeding off a herd of animals, the entire pack would be hunted down and annihilated.

Of course, back then there would also be an awful lot of unwanted children being left in the woods by harlots after discovering their partners for the night were actually local barons who would kill them if they revealed the truth of what had happened, and as such one or two of these infants would be found by wolves.

What i do know is that werewolves are far more common culturally than other creatures of the night such as vampires or witches - seperate accounts have been found in seperate cultures, all of which displaying similar characteristics.


I want to believe they don't exist, but 'evidence' to the contrary denies me my ignorance.

For those of you who fail to see what i'm getting at - i'm saying that because of these clear examples of humans living alongside wild animals, and for all intents and purposes mentally being one, any hunter or simple wanderer who stumbled upon a pack would see a feral human sleeping alongside what would otherwise be a dangerous animal.

No one will have actually seen the transfiguration process, and if the latter of the misadventuring types was the one who stumbled across the scene, it is more or less a dead certain that he would exaggerate his find greatly in order to express his dread realisation of what he had discovered.

As such, no one would believe him - and yet such individuals would be driven to document their finds in hopes that future generations would stumble upon their works and take them seriously.

Or, you know - i could be completely wrong in my reasoning and there are actually wolves masquerading as humans within our society, slowly working their way into the seams of our civilisation for the purposes of turning us all into their own personal sheep farm.

I find it more amusing to keep an open mind.

great post, however, I feel that a wolf would most likely devour a crying newborn left in the woods, rather than take it and raise it.... Have there been FACTUAL documents of this happening? I could understand perhaps a young child getting abandoned and acquiring 'wolf like' attributes from trying to survive and grow up in the wild, but an abandoned baby or newborn? If I were a wolf i would think of it as an easy meal....

Maybe the werewolf legend came about from the American Indian belief that humans can change into animals??

you may be interested to hear this but i happen to have had numerous ware wolf encounters.

there is another way to become the almighty warewolf which you havnt mentioned, and this is the method which myself use to transform....

I suggest trying it out, it really is great fun!
its a long process, typically taking about 18-23 days...
during which time, u live a normal life, go to work, to the pub, home for dinner etc. but make sure u dont shave at all.

and then on the night of the next full moon, you go out and get blind drunk, then naked... You will then have to howl at the moon a few times, I do it just like this, "HooooOOOOOUUUUUOOOOOOuuuuuuul---------------Hooouuu Hoooouuuuuul------HHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuoouououuW"

Now youre ready!

did this last wednesday night, then I ran into town, pisssed on a rubbish bin by the taxi stand, howled at the two old ladies leaving the casino before proceeding to rip through town like a, like a , like a warewolf yeah!

if you try this you need to be carefull though, dont make the mistake of sobering up untill you are safely back home...

when the booze wears off, you find yourself instantly transformed back to normal, except you will be hairy faced and naked...

when that happens you dont wanna be standing in line at your local supermarket...

It's possible that the American Indians were susceptible to the same folly that the europeans did - like i said, the accounts of werewolves have been found in several different cultures.

As for your point;

If an alpha of the pack discovered the infant first, then every other wolf in the pack would be faced with the biggest, baddest, most cunning adversary it had ever faced in it's life for that 'Easy Meal'.

And of course, the Alpha would rarely be hungry, and wolves are noted to be quite maternal when it comes to parenting.

That is a remarkably good point - no human would be able to survive on his own in the wild for long if he has no means of communicating with the animals around him.

How do you think those kids managed to survive in a social hierachy like that?

The answer is simple; Human infants are highly imitative - all they would have to do is copy the wolf behaviour to a point in which it's intentions were clear to the other wolves.

I've actually managed to experiment a little with this with the neighbourhood animals like our feline friends as i'm walking about on my day-to-day activities - You may not know it, but a common sign of mutual respect among cats is a furrowing of the eyebrows.

Often i have performed this simple gesture to a cat that was otherwise startled, and it would immediately become more relaxed in my presence - to the point of which it would actually make the same gesture.

You spoke earlier of indian tribesmen, and i'll focus on this momentarily, specifically on how certain tribes believe in a 'divine spirit animal', and that they would hunt any animal other than that particular animal - be it wolf, hawk, or even a bear.

This is an example of the kinship that feral humans experience when living amongst the creatures of the wild, albeit a far less extreme one.

The reasons one may want to become a werewolf (at least by my definition) are simple;

If you're in the wild, alone, unarmed, and you're surrounded by a pack of wolves - it doesn't instantly mean you're going to die if you know what you're doing.

very interesting. I suppose it is just human nature to have a "need to belong", whether you are an abandoned infant, or someone who wants to be a werewolf, essentially, everyone needs to feel they are part of a 'pack'

That's true to a point yes - i was focusing on the development of a skill by learning how wolves interact with one another and learning how to imitate them to a point of which you can survive alongside the pack in the wilderness - in a situation in which alone you wouldn't stand a chance, but your point is just as good.

I apologise, i have a tendancy to take joy in the simpler things in life.

I get a bit excited when i get a chance to share that simple pleasure.
