Whoah! That's crazy. I agree with your interpreation of our vision. It's such a small bandwidth compared to the rest of the (known) spectrum.
You could take this topic and run with it for sure.

And how can you compare size to something that is most likely formless? Sizeless. Just another interpretation.

Maybe its not that we see just a small portion.. maybe its that we see just one possibility of infinite possibilities. One perception of limitless perception.

We're all living in a dream, the same dream together it seems.. and we create it together. What if something happens to our planet that drastically causes everyone on earth to re-think their whole perception of reality? What do you think would happen?

Our star right now is orbiting our galaxy eliptically, its not part of the galaxy yet apparently... but soon it will be.. so our star is isolated, and quite "co-incidentally", don't we all feel alone in the universe? What happens if that perception changed... maybe our star would be come one with the galaxy? *cough 2012*. ha, thats just my working theory.. I honestly think it will be a drastic change in global perception probably from an outside influence.

If you haven't read into the power of attraction thread, its worth a look.

Our thoughts shape our reality collectively. I have no problem seeing and believing this. A few years ago I may have been very skeptical, but I'm starting to see it, and use it.

This is getting off topic of auras. My point I was trying to make, perception is everything, awareness is everything. Unlimited perception, unlimited imagination = unlimited possibilities. Sit back and watch the 'magic' happen.

i'm a pseudo-skeptic on auras. i know everyone posted has seen something, but what makes everyone so sure it isn't a trick of the eye? doesn't one's eye invert whatever image or color as an echo? like if you look into a bright light, you see black specks afterwards.

i was on the crapper one night, and i was looking at my hands, side by side. i started faintly seeing a blue auric type of shadow around them, and this sent shivers down my spine, making the blue even more vibrant.

was this because i was staring at my hands for awhile, negating my white hands into a blue echo, or was it me seeing energy?

haha.. well, I'll say this. In the realm of perception..everythings up to our interpretation. For who better to anaylse what we experienced? When we experience something we remember in complex layers of perception. It would be hard for anyone to intepret your personal experience.

For a while I doubted what I actually saw.. but then I got confirmations, and noticed I could make my aura brighter and darker. I started to believe. And then astonishingly, one day after a long meditation, I went to look at myself in the mirror, which I always do to see if theres a change after meditation, and my mind didnt want to see green anymore. I saw a solid pink. I think that was the moment where I finaly dropped all doubt.. that or when I was able to pick it out in other people, not just myself.

Its up to your interpretation what's real and what isn't. Truth is personal. What we consider to be true other don't necessarily believe to be so. I could say we live in a world, its no less true then saying we live in a universe full of worlds and realities, and imagination and whatever else you percieve.

Its like this...one day you're fine knowing you live in a big area, then you feel the need to expand the truth, take it deeper and see it in bigger perception.. well that big space becomes a planet, that "flat world" becomes round, and it becomes an object surround other objects.. this is equally true as saying we live in a big space. Well eventually we push our perception farther and farther as it becomes necessary. It is necessary to broaden our understanding, the reason and nature of our being.

I'm not going to tell you what to believe because it is a path you must follow alone, but that doesnt mean our paths can't cross.

The second you stop doubting yourself, the second you think random crazy ideas that pop in your head aren't so random OR crazy, is the second things will start to unfold for you, and a whole pile of questions will enter your reality.

I decided to make this long so you got some reading material for your next intuitive toilet meditation.

Thanks for bringing this example to the table for us to view. I have noticed something that is missing from this thread. That is, that all living things have aura's. Once you truly begin to see them, you will even see them around plants and animals, not just people.

You forgot to mention that EVERYTHING has an aura, living and nonliving (and I guess dead is included in that).

Where there are protons and neutrons, there is energy. Hence, all matter has an aura. As well as nonmatter, but that's another issue altogether now isn't it
.

Yes, so very true. Thanks for that addition. Another thing I do not think I have seen mentioned here either, is that they are also visible in the dark.

I have always been able to see them, and thought for the longest time that everyone could, until people started talking about them.

I think other people see them as well, just don't realize what it is they are seeing. For an example, people claim that pregnant women have a glow to them. Yes, indeed, they really do!

Ok, this is a serious question, I'm not being flipant.

I've been doing a few exercises for a few weeks to try and see auras. Now, I'm somewhat colorblind. Do you think what you are seeing is actually coming in through your eyes? If so the ability is useless to me, because even if I ever can see auras I won't be able to tell what the colors I'm seeing are anyway. For example, I ussually cannot tell the difference between blue and purple, and frequently orange and red, and the list is endless as you hit subtle colors.

But I've often thought prehaps what you are seeing is coming in through another sense. In which case I may be able to see colors in auras that I can't see in real life.

Does anyone have an opinion on this or a good source with an opinion(by good source I mean a book, not a website)?

Vas

I think you see it more through your third eye, that part of your mind that visualises things. Third eye... I have vision, I can see things, but if I close my mind, and imagine things, it like vision, buts its not. I can see the auras with my mind. It seems like the 3rd eye is what tells me what it is. I can look at a red book or something..and I dont need much interpretation there.. its just red and I dont think of it.. When I look at aura.. I see with my eyes, and I'm asking my mind what I'm seeing. I'm thinking, whats there...red...blue.... as I try focusing my eyes and unfocusing, looking at different parts of my body etc and depending on my state of mind/focus at the time, I see subtle colour, and feel that it is that colour. Sometimes I can see it, sometimes I can't, it depends on my state of mind.. like if I was just meditating, then I'll see it for sure.

Really, more then anything it comes from UNDERSTANDING.. You have to learn about energy, understand its nature, and understand the big illusion. The more you learn, just about reading about it, thinking about it, the broader your perception and you'll begin to notice things you never thought were there.

I've been meditating for a year, not even seriously.. but I still pretty much every to every other day for this year and a lot during the 2 years before... researched this kind of stuff.. thought about it, discussed it, tried to understand it. And eventually, EVENTUALLY.. I began to notice certain things. It just takes patience.

I also have this theory that you can see it a lot easier if you haven't slept for a long time. I find thats when your eyes start to get blurry..maybe your peripheral kicks in more.. I sware its after being awake 20 hours that I think I'm seeing ghosts and whisps of energy and lots of other stuff. But then I thought... maybe I'm just tired and i'm losing my vision, and my mind.

I think its like this... I was talking to my room-mate about this theory... you notice how you feel more like yourself later on in the day,.. more confident? You feel like a new person in the morning, like its a new life, but you struggle to get yourself together. Its in the afternoon that we start to feel like ourselves, confident.. thats when we go out and socialise and be ourselves. After not sleeping for a while I start to feel more in control, more in touch with who I am. And my reasoning for this is you get USED to the frequency you're in, in this case.. the waking state, and I think that is the real reason why your vision starts to "go".. it just starts to adjust to the frequencies, its your mind getting comfortable. I've been awake for 3 days straight once and I've noticed no difference in eye site after the first day.. it never got any worse.

So... its just a theory.. but I think sleep depravation helps because I honestly believe thats when we begin to adjust to our surroundings more, that state of mind which is our usual waking state.

People who have been meditating their whole lives.. a lot of them their waking state is more like a dream.. sounds wierd eh? They are in these higher frequencies of the mind all day which i believe helps them to see aura, and interact with their environment on the energetic level. I believe this to be why the experienced meditators look kind of "spacey". HA.. I am pretty spaced out looking after meditation.

I just wanted to throw this in, while talking about shifting frequencies of mind from waking to dreaming.. you ever notice after even a TEN minute sleep, that you lose ALL concept of time? Strange. I believe this to be due to the frequency differences, and when you start to get the feel of the frequency your in again (waking), that you are able to gauge what time it is.

Anyways... ha I dunno, its my theory man.. TRY SLEEP DEPRAVATION. Stay up 20 hours then go look in the mirror and report back to me!

well thank you to all, i can now have a sense on how to read aura's, and i can build it from here on out. I read the article and tried caveman's exercise and it is amazing i never knew this.

Also i would like to add that when i was outside today working, i saw energy patterns in the air. Or the wind, i don't know what it was but it was like little energy sparkles all over the place, then i closed my eyes and shook my head, opened them and it was gone. Thanks to this eye opener of a thread.
Again thank you

I have to agree with the idea of the electric universe. If you get your mind around the idea that all matter is energy, auras are VERY easy to believe in.

thanks for your reply to my question, and i must say you definitely have some insight on this matter and have actually convinced me you practice what you speak of. meaning, you are one of action and not just of words.

some others have mentioned also seeing streams of particles in the air. i believe i see this also, more frequently than seeing auras from my hands or whatnot. from my experiences, it has been at night or when i am focusing [yes, the crapper is one of the best places to focus/meditate IMO haha]. but i see particles shifting and streaming usually in an undulating pattern across my vision. it's never stagnant and always in flow.

is THIS energy as well? or is this just environmental noise that just exists? does anyone know if it can be manipulated or utilized? it is a step into seeing auras more often?

i do say i am a pseudo-skeptic on energy/auras/etc, but i am not closed-minded. i have had my own experiences to suggest otherwise, and the more i read about others who share in them...it does validate to some degree that something does exist.

and caveman, you are right, we choose our reality, but that does not mean we cannot get some help on the way!

Thats awesome - have you got anything else like that?

I am trying to remember the name of the type of book I practiced with, but it consisted of a bunch of little multi-colored dots that create three-dimensional pictures when you look at them long enough. (Stare, stare, stare, Look a duck!)

I practiced with these pictures, getting my eyes to focus in on them right away, and it worked well for auras. I could see the energy around a person (although not color - that was more sensed - and can change) once I got my eyes to adjust.

An interested side effect of these experiments is discovering... well, something I call "The Watchers". That is the topic for another thread all together, though.

I'll explain it a little bit. Basically, I first noticed this at my sister's graduation ceremony for college. There was a humanoid shaped being standing near the balconies at a gargoyle. Aura color was red (but for the record - colors don't mean the same thing to me as some sites suggest they are). I was messing with ways to get its attention, which worked, and it just turned and stared at me for awhile. I kind of sunk down in my seat, and it returned to watching the ceremony.

I have observed them on rooftops in an apartment complex, as well as in the garage, just standing off to the side watching people, not necessarily me. I did come very close to them once when 2 were standing very close to my truck in the garage. I asked one to move and it did (was blocking me from backing out).

I never sensed malace from them, just curiosity. Spirits, ghosts, angels, who knows.

At my school we have a sort of unofficial club thing after school where we talk about things such as auras, psychics, and other paranormal phenomena. Two medians came in a few days ago, and one of them claimed to be a really good aura reader. She looked at my friends aura and described him to a "t." It was very odd. Makes you think about it a lot more.

well I have been known to move things, telekinesis, and to communicate with animals. But I'm best at reading auras. I'm so advanced that I don't have to use my side vision anymore, I can just glance at a person and tell their aura.
Also, I se auras like people see the northern lights, aurora borealis, and realized the similarities in the names and that both of them deal with electrical waves.
