Another rehash of the McMinnville photo but here you go...

For the first time, UFO researchers will publicly display scientific proof of UFOs as concluded by Colorado scientists. Colorado artist Armand Guerrero will display a large accurate sculpture of the UFO and copies of the original photo negatives will be on display. This free display will be open to the public from August 10 - 12, 2007 at the Denver Tech Center Marriott in conjunction with MUFON's annual Symposium on UFOs.

The Mutual UFO Network, Inc. (MUFON) is a nonprofit scientific research organization that has been investigating the UFO mystery for 38 years. For the first time, MUFON will publicly display scientific proof of UFOs as concluded by Colorado scientists.

Known as the 1950 McMinnville Oregon photos, this photographic evidence was studied by scientists at the University of Colorado. They were commissioned by the U.S. Government to scientifically study UFOs and concluded these photos to be 'one of the few UFO reports in which all factors investigated, geometric, psychological, and physical appear to be consistent with the assertion that an extraordinary flying object, silvery, metallic, disk-shaped, tens of meters in diameter, and evidently artificial, flew within sight of two witnesses.-

It was May 11, 1950 at about 7:45 PM. Evelyn Trent was out feeding the rabbits on her family farm in Dayton, Oregon, 11 miles south of McMinnville, when she saw a strange metallic object in the sky. "It was like a good-sized parachute canopy without the strings, only silvery bright mixed with bronze," she said at the time. "It was as pretty as anything I ever saw." She yelled for her husband, and he quickly grabbed a camera on his way out the door and was able to take a couple of pictures of the object. A friend of the Trent's then hung the pictures up in his bank's window. A reporter from McMinnville saw the pictures and printed them, and from there they hit newswires all over the country. They were even featured in a Life magazine story in June of 1950. The photographs were then analyzed 17 years later in a study of UFOs funded by the Air Force and conducted at the university of Colorado in Boulder called 'The Condon Report-.

Ironic that it should be from the same place as the Condon Report

This is a very interesting story. Very good post.

I guess I just fail to see how this is proof? I would say that it certainly aids in proving but I woudn't say this is definitive proof. Then again what is proof? Merely something that validates a truth to the indiviual doing the viewing. Well I guess I just answered myself. Why am I up a 6:30 am on a saturday morning??

I don't see any proof, either. They've taken an old photo, rehashed what a few scientists (unnamed, at that) said a few years ago and sculpted the photo and are calling it proof.

We have unnamed scientists, a SINGLE incident (with conflicting incidents all over the place that show different designs, etc)... this is hardly proof. Seriously.

I'll be reading more about this - but as has been said, I don't see the real proof yet.

The proof I'd like to see are prearranged displays, bit like an air show, that would blow everyones mind.

google images link - plenty of sites to choose from

Indeed, it would be nice to think that some new scientific proof has been found but it just doesn't read that way at all. It just looks like they've taken the original findings and presented them with a sculpture.

I was considering not making this thread to begin with but I thought that since it was of vague interest (despite it's overblown title) and mentioned UFOs that I would post it here

Anyone wishing to read about the UFO incident and view the photo (s) (mentions two but all I get is one photo shown even at the Google link up above) then here is the UFO Casebook page about the Trents and the UFO Photo (s):

www.ufocasebook.com...

(Unless the small photo shown at top is the second photo since the utility pole on the right side is not shown in the large photo at the bottom).

I think I will take a look at the photos, since by a few feet those photos differ according to the story.

(Also it is black and white film, and not a digital image. Oh, I admit color may be better, but it is hard to beat old black and white film for details and the grain of the film can not still be duplicated with those new fandangled digital cameras.)

I must learn how to spell so I do not have to 'edit' posts or at least read again what I typed. It may make sense to me, but then it may not sometimes to you.

I know what I mean, but then can I type on this newfandangled keyboard?? Something similiar said by Mark Twain about the typewriter.

50 years of scutiny has not ended this UFO report. Close-up photos by Blue Book used by the scientists.

ufologie.net...

Wonder how they do that? So, building a model?

Oh, and do not forget this website as to the analysis then undertaken:

brumac.8k.com...

The Goverment commisioned the scientists.................

(I think it is still all tied to politics in the end.)
(Well, like in the other thread, Ike Eisenhower then President met with several spacealien species, I would not know, and I was not there to know...............????)

------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe them spacealiens want some corn to make some cornflakes, Pa!

Ya, but Ma, better also go get that thar shotgun in case those spacealiens land.

Those spacealiens ain't gonna land. That thar is some kind of Government thing they built there back in Washington, D.C. Pa!

Well, Ma Kettle, you never know?
That's right, Pa Kettle, you never know!

One thing about these two photos is that the unknown flying disk (according to what terms anyone wishes to attach to this object) is not going vertical. And I really do not see anywhere that it ever did, but then I would not expect to know what this object in the two photos really is either.

Sorry, but...just a question, maybe its'me who haven't understand something in this case... Does finally someone knows WHO are these scientist that confirmed this is a scientific proof or they wish to remain anonymous? Someone more Maccabee, i mean.....
