I've been wondering about this since I first saw the movie. Does anyone have ANY idea?

I certainly don't.

Well we dont know since they never showed what was in the box in the movie. So no point in worrying about it.

I'm not sure but did you catch the FedEx commercial they ran during last year's SuperBowl? It was a guy with a beard (supposed to be Tom Hanks) and he delivers the last package and the lady opens it at the door. It had a cell phone, a GPS system, some seeds, and a few other things that he really could have used, it was pretty funny.

It didn't show in the movie.

The angel wings painted on the box gave him enough hope to survive. I guess they intentionally didn't reveal it's contents to keep it mysterious.

That was a great movie. It was really sad when Wilson drifted away.

I thought it was a piece of art from that lady he went to see in the end. He kept drawing some shape.

Maybe I dreamt all that.

i agree. its kinda like the silver suit case in ronin. (bad movie by the way) at the end the guy says he forgot what was in it. and your like SON OF A BITCH! any ways cast away was a good movie. i really enjoyed it and really held up with most of the film on 2 actors. the vollyball that played wilson did an excellenat job.

Yes, that was one outstanding acting performance by that volleyball. Probably deserved an Oscar.

Hmmm.... Maybe it was nothing significant. Just the fact that that particular package had angel wings painted on it gave Hanks hope to survive.

Yes it was divorce papers from her husband. Some people just don't pay attention sometimes.

But the angel wings is what gave him hope and the fact that it was the last package and he wanted to deliver it himself when and if he got off the island.
