I'd be more worried that they are just going to screw the whole plan up and leave the NT communities for dead.

Come on guys seriously, Australia is too laid back to be involved in any crazy conspiracies.

"Hey Gus, how bout we get into cahoots with them yankees and the martians?"

"Oh bugger it I've lost me stubby holder"

The Australian Government has decided to control the Aboriginal problem and roll troops out within a matter of days. Very quickly! Why?
Now, Pine Gap ......

I wanted to comment on dingleberry77’s post earlier this year.

I also believe that the Australian Government’s motives regarding Aboriginals and the land they are on is less than pure….Australian communities across the country have drug/alcohol abuse, child abuse, domestic violence and there is very little done about it.

I remember making a mental note to myself of the suspicious timing of events when John Howard went to the US for talks and then not long after his return I received an email from the GETUP organization about the proposed changes in legislation:

5. The Consequences: - By taking away the permit system Indigenous communities will lose their veto over who enters their traditional lands, potentially putting them at even greater risk from unwanted external forces.... (Please read the 'Getup' link)

There was lots of discussion at the time through Amnesty International and Getup blogs that perhaps the change in legislation and the heavy-handed techniques used pointed more to motives relating to our government’s desire to use the land for other reasons..some saying the US needing used uranium dumping grounds, others leaning to it having more to do with Pine Gap.

My personal opinion is that the Australian government is ‘at the beck and call’ of the US government and the Aborigines happen to be sitting on some very valuable areas of Australian land. Whatever the details of the motives…it has nothing to do with helping the children…we only have to look at Canberra’s well-known child pornography scandals for that…I guess we come from a ‘master/slave’ mentality dating back to the convict times and not so surprising that we are in this situation today.

Finally, someone gets my point. It all happened very fast and the legislation passed through without the public really knowing what was going on. Now, the story has been swept under the carpet. They have control of their land and control of what comes and goes around the Pine Gap area.

It was just a theory of mine, but it all seems to fall into place in many areas. I hear posts from some military personnel. You say that you don't know anything about it. Why would you know anything about it. Why would the government tell you? There's no reason why you should know.

It could be for uranium. It could be for control. It could be to set up something for the future. Whatever it is, it happened real quick. Nothing as important as aboriginal issues need to be sorted out that quick

I highy doubt our government is going to place massive "Gambling establishments" in the middle of the bush in towns with 200 odd people in them

Dingleberry could you post some evidence or theories which make "Operation Sabre?"

I'm not debunking you' I'm just curious to know how you would come accross such information.

I don't know if your meaning an operation that would replica a terrorist attack (9/11 and 7/7 bombings were carried out whilst exact replicas were occuring) or if there's something else your trying to say and I'm misunderstanding you.

Mate, i have no evidence, it was just a theory i had. It just seemed to me that it was a little funny that the government moved in, within a week, to fix a problem that's been going on for centuries. Operation Sabre was going on at the same time. This is a regular thing that US/AUS do, but it's always in secrecy.

I'm just putting two and two together. I've spend a lot of time in Northern Territory near these operations and they always smell like a rat. The community knows that something is going on.

Also, this whole thing was swept under the carpet very quickly. The aboriginals are no better off, things are still the same, but the troops are still there.

No, i'm not saying that there is going to be, or it's related to, a terrorist attack. There are a lot of troops now stationed in, and around our most secret US/AUS army installation. I have no facts, just theories, i was just hoping some other Aussies on this site know more, or anyone else for that matter.

i dont know much about the land down under other than kangaroos and shrimp on the barbie. so this post isnt directed solely at you, it goes for everyone especially americans.

why, please tell me why every time you guys see a troop movement, a helicopter, or a fighter jet, there has to be the huge conspiracy?

honestly has anyone on here other than myself heard of routine military exercises?

i assure you they really do those things i was in the military and we did them all of the time.

Mate, normally i don't worry about military movements. Really i don't. It's just that it happened very quickly. They didn't need to move the military it as we were talking about medical issues to do with a community that has been living like that for centuries and it happens on the same week that they are having an operation around the most secret site on the Australian continent. That's why i'm saying it.

Military can move around all they want, doesn't worry me. Only when it doesn't add up.

well that i can understand.

but i do have one more question for you.

was the movement sudden for you? or was it sudden for them?

ill clarify what i mean. are you sure this was not some planned thing, and just a spur of the moment security increase.

im really not trying to knock you. im just tired of the people on here that get all riled up over "normal" military opperations. im open to the fact that something bad may have or is about to happen. but i just ask you to see where im comming from.

Well it was certainly sudden for everyone, the media thought it was sudden, the political opposition thought it was sudden, and most of the general public thought it was sudden. It was a very weird week indeed. A lot of people saw it as a political stunt from the Howard Government, but it seemed to be a lot more than than.
