Why We Hate Hugo Chavez

Multinational corporations control the western media and Hugo Chavez defied them therefore they want to depose him. Most governments in the world are controlled by multinational corporations. The US government tried to depose Hugo Chavez using the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) which does the same job overtly that the CIA used to do covertly. The NED funds Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) usually with NED or CIA people on the boards of directors. However the NEDs main role is to co-ordinate support for these NGOs through the media and through funding from much larger organisations such as the CIA and USAID. To see which countries the NED is active in visit their website and check out the grants section. Also visit the website of the International Endowment for Democracy which campaigns against NED.

The NED are a very dangerous organisation that are currently trying to destabilise many countries including Pakistan and China (for example they funded the Tibetan campaign groups behind the Olympic demonstrations).

He is more than hated in Colombia, Perú, Honduras, Chile, and Costa Rica and just about every nation that he has tried to mess with, he is a disgrace to Latin America, but his time is soon to be over.

I'd like to open up a discussion as to why America hates Hugo Chavez so much. Let's move beyond the ignorant rhetoric of "He's a communist" or "he's a fascist", and really take a look at what he's done for the Venexualan people.

First of all, try addressing the American people with the respect of their individuality. Not all 'hate' Mr. Chavez and to suggest we do, is pure rhetorical flame baiting.

Beyond that, I do not hate him but I do not like his politics or his complete lack of statesmanship. I do believe I am allowed that much.

For being the leader of an up-and-coming nation, he behaves like a banana boat skipper. And no, he wouldn't be the first and certainly not the last with such a lack of common protocol awareness... but it doesn't excuse his behavior.

I think the Venezuelan people could have done far better, even with another socialist leader. I fear that, what this man is going to do FOR his countrymen, is to lead them into needless wars with their neighbors, squander the wealth of the vast energy resources and leave them yet another pariah country with a rogue leadership.

Why we hate him? Well he nationalized the electric companies and electricity is now in short supply, sound familiar anyone?
How bout he inflated his currency 50% and the Venezuela people are now paying a dear cost in starvation because Chavez is there ruler.

The great thing is that Chavez nationalized the Tv stations so he can now have his minions report of the great condition the country is in and how low crime is.

Give it time, it takes a wile before the folks will give up and flee the country, then the real pain will begin.

Just a few reasons I don't care for Chavez...

The left is back, and it's the only path we have to get out of the spot to which the right has sunken us. Socialism builds and capitalism destroys.

I am convinced that the path to a new, better and possible world is not capitalism, the path is socialism.

On January 23, 2010, the Chávez government threatened to take action against cable providers that aired channels that did not comply with Venezuelan regulations, including the requirement to interrupt regular broadcasting to broadcast presidential speeches. The following day, the country's cable providers stopped broadcasting seven channels, including TV Chile, Chile's public TV channel, and RCTV International, the cable channel that was created after RCTV—Venezuela's oldest television channel and a constant critic of President Hugo Chávez—was taken off the public airwaves in 2007

The governments of Venezuela and Colombia should thoroughly and promptly investigate the recent abductions and killings of ten men by an unidentified armed group on the Venezuelan side of the border between the two countries. A separate attack on a longtime Colombian human rights defender in the state of Meta should be fully investigated.


The Venezuelan government has adopted and proposed measures that reduce the ability of government critics to voice their opinions and will seriously limit freedom of expression in Venezuela.

The Chávez government should immediately stop harassing a private television station that has been critical of the government and call off an unwarranted investigation into its conduct

On September 18, we released a report in Caracas that shows how President Hugo Chávez has undermined human rights guarantees in Venezuela. That night, we returned to our hotel and found around twenty Venezuelan security agents, some armed and in military uniform, awaiting us outside our rooms. They were accompanied by a man who announced—with no apparent sense of irony—that he was a government "human rights" official and that we were being expelled from the country.

The Venezuelan government's expulsion of two Human Rights Watch staff underscores the Chávez administration's increasing intolerance of dissenting views.

"Were NY Pollsters Just Playing a Joke on Chavez?" That was the typically cheeky headline on an item about the Venezuela election in The Hotline political digest (nationaljournal.com) this week. The item quoted a press release from the polling firm Penn, Schoen & Berland Assoc. saying, "Exit Poll Results Show Major Defeat for Chavez." The release, dated 7:30 p.m., said, "With Venezuela's voting set to end at 8 p.m. EST according to election officials, final exit poll results from Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates, an independent New York-based polling firm, show a major victory for the 'Yes' movement, defeating Chavez in the Venezuela presidential recall referendum." The poll showed 59 percent in favor of recalling Chavez, 41 percent against.

The next morning, Chavez was declared the winner by an almost exact opposite margin. "About 58 percent said 'no' to a recall, while 42 percent said 'yes,'" wrote the Washington Post.

The Hotline was evidently having a little fun twitting a polling firm. But was the result as clear as they—and official election observer Jimmy Carter—thought? There is good reason to believe it was not. In fact, it's something of a scandal that American news media have been taking the official vote count in Venezuela at face value. There is very good reason to believe that the exit poll had the result right, and that Chavez's election officials—and Carter and the American media—got it wrong.

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez has been running an authoritarian regime. By various means he has taken control of the legislature, the courts, the armed services and the police. His thugs have been intimidating and even killing the regime's opponents. Chavez is an ally of Cuba's Fidel Castro and an enemy of the United States, and he has shown no commitment to democratic principles. One weapon against such fraud is the exit poll. As Doug Schoen of Penn Schoen points out, his firm has conducted exit polls in Mexico and, just a few days ago, in the Dominican Republic, which produced results very close to the election results. His partner Mark Penn points out that the firm conducted two previous exit polls in Venezuela, both of which were on the mark. Warren Mitofsky's firm, Mitofsky International, has produced exit polls with similar results in Mexico and Russia. Mitofsky recalls that in 1994, Mexican President Carlos Salinas, seeking credibility with foreign investors for that year's Mexican elections, asked him for advice on what to do. Allow independent exit polls, Mitofsky advised, sponsored by the media, and allow the results to be announced soon after the voting. Mitofsky's exit poll results, announced soon after the polls closed, did in fact come close to the official results, as did another Mitofsky poll in 2000. More important, they provided independent confirmation of the fairness of the count.

Since 1999 he’s been the most aggressive member of OPEC, continuously calling for members to cut back on oil supplies.
In the last year, Venezuela’s oil shipments to China have more than doubled, to 75,000 barrels a day (b/d), according to the U.S. Energy Dept. During a visit to Beijing in July, Chávez said shipments to the oil-hungry economy would hit 200,000 b/d by year’s end. Chávez signed contracts with China to build 18 massive oil tankers and 13 new drilling rigs to ramp up for 500,000 b/d to go to China as soon as possible, meaning the next two years. That’s half of Citgo’s current supply to the U.S.

That's jus a few of the reasons I don't like him. I'm not even getting into "El Diablo". He's crippling us

Mr. Chavez is a "clear and present danger" to the United States and other nations in the region, especially his neighbor, Colombia. He and his "administration" should be treated no different from Sadam Hussain and his supporters should be treated no different from the Baathist Party members of Iraq.

Horrible day for Venezuela. All the streets are quiet, no one is outside. We were fooled by Chavez and the oposition....

NOT EVERYONE HAD voted. In Venezuela you vote with machines (terrible idea) and they were causing a lot of delay. many people couldnt vote. The votes from London, werent even sent to the final scruteny.

Here is what happens:

Very close contact to Comando Venezuela, teh opposition, have clear results that we wont by 57% of the votes.
20 minutes later, tanks went out and the guards, Chavez ask for teh stage by Mradlores (presidential hosue) to be dismantle and they were plannign an auto-coup. There were tupamaros in Merida (militias) with guns sayin that apprentaly Chavez lost and if that was true, they would open fire.
Comando venezuela appenrtly had to do an agreedment and handle in the goverment.

I am extremely sad.. my dream to go bakc to my country is gone and here we are, until 2019. 20 years of goverment...

reina Sequera: 64,281 (I must say that last week a option for Capriles, the party "Unidad Democratica Venezolana" pronounced they no longer support Capriles. The voting card were already printed and couldnt changed. If people would vote for Unidad Democratica, the vote would go to Reina Sequera)

Where are the 293,954 nil votes between in here?

We never got to see this votes. We don't know the final results.


The people who voted in New Orleans, the votes are only coming today so, the final results it is not what it seems.

IN Tweeter people when crazy saying that in different schools, the army was holding people who were in charge of the voting center hostage so they wouldn't give the final votes.

Imo, Certain 'Mericans hate Hugo for a couple of reasons

1. Venezuela has LOTS and LOTS of oil which he re-nationalized.
2. He actively dislikes certain elements of the American political establishment with good reason. They have tried to oust him 3 times and kill him a couple times. Look up "Confessions of a Corporate Hitman".
3. He rubs their failures into their face, while threatening to cut the US off of oil and sell it to China if they keep trying to pull this #. Essentially, because of oil he has the US by the balls, he has an iron grip, and the US doesn't like egg on their face.

There is more to it, I'm sure, but in a nutshell, its always about oil. He's got it.

The media in USA vilifying Hugo Chavez is bad enough.
But now the anti Hugo Chavez agenda is spreading globaly.
In Swedish media I get much 'hints and innuendo' about how he ain't no good.
