I had forgotten about this story when I stumbled over it today. I loved this story back when I first found it several years ago on the internet. If
you have never read it check it out. It is a really cool story.

the thing that makes me think this story is real is the picture of the dog - it looks genuinely freaked! i noticed that right off the bat when i saw
that picture. the thing i noticed about the story first-hand though was that it's written in past-tense, not present-tense as you would for a
journal. oh wait, perhaps he wrote it right after the excavations and decided to write it that way. just meandering. helluva good story. scared the #
out of me at some points. my instincts tell me to believe it.

i'm seeing people on another forum "confirming" (somehow) that it is a creative writing exercise... but why would he have mediocre grammar and not
a fluent grasp of sentence structure... he had more of a fluent grasp of caving equipment.
