OMG. I think i've experienced missing time or something?? That story took me about three hours to read!!! (It is now 6.52am and i'm tired too )

Another member (sorry I forget your name) commented on it being "shadow written" (?) I totally agree with that.
When describing his batteries for his lighting equipment he sort of over did the details a bit - thus leading me to presume that a problem with his light source would arise....and it did.

He also mentions how, during his dramatic exit from the cave, that he was panicking in the darkness on his final ascent and was waiting for something to grab him just as he reaches the exit. Then guess what......something starts tugging on the end of the rope. Again, the way it was explained was, IMO, very suggestive. (suggestive reading?)

And then B cutting the rope and watching it as it "zips" back into the hole? That's a pretty big horror cliche that you'll no doubt have noticed in many movies (Pitch Black...anyone??)

I was hooked from the first page. Everything sounded pretty factual from the way it was written, until it got to the rope being pulled at the end. dead giveaway.

All in all, definitely an excellent read. And the cliff-hanger? A perfect end to an intense, psychologically disturbing story.

10/10 for that. I'm going to get my friends to read this one!!!

You know, I am so happy that I was not the only one who stayed up past their bedtime to read this. I REALLY enjoyed this story. I don't care in the least if it is real or not. I want to read more from this guy. I'd buy his books (off ebay of course) anytime. He kept me on edge all the way to the end. I read hundreds of books a year (because I love them and I have boxes full of them for free in my room), I have to say that stories like this make me wish it was in print.

Sounds like some poor hacks attempt at a screenplay...Oh ya sounds a lot like the horror movie currently out about the creatures in the cave that has the girl from coyote ugly in it. Good story but I'm a little perplexed as too why this is in the Aliens forum.

Only thing it doesnt have is a resolution. It also works as a screenplay (albeit an unfinished one)

I noticed the last post was Sept . 2005 , any updates to this amazing story ? When reading it , I thought it was based on someones experience of a caving gone wrong . Bits of it reminded me of the movie " The Cave" and "pitch Black" . I was disappointed that it turned out to be a cliffhanger of cliffhangers , and well written . Alot of the links I clicked on were no longer available , and lead to other stories . Thumbs up for this spine tingling , edge of your seat story.....

It's been ages since I saw this, but wasn't it established that this was a work of fiction written early in 1928 or some similar time?

I thought it was written in the late 1980's early 1990's . I'd have to recheck because the " journal" reads ( last enrty) may 2001 ? still a good story

Wow, I just finished reading this story. This is a wonderful piece of work. Felt like a real experience. I would love to read more. I was disappointed that there was no ending or that it ended the way it did. I want to know what happened.

Hopefully someone will make a movie. I haven't seen the movie The Cave yet. Someone said it could of been based off this story? Has anyone else seen this movie?

Doesnt this end abruptly? ie like another thread here - drip drip, then nothing else. Leads one to beleive the guys dead or worse in this cave??
All i remeber is - the site is badly constructed - ie keep pressing link at bottom for next page, i got kinda bored in the end reading it all.

Its a cave for sure, i doudt if et would leave evidence in a cave for someone to find.

wow, it was such a good read...man, my imagination is so wild, I could see myself there...wow. but, I to think its a hoax...just whole build up to climatic next page, thats leads to a dead end...but, the mere fact of seeing that empty page sent a shingle up my spine I won't soon forget, great read. I don't ususally get scared like this. but, its actually quite comforting.
