It was a good story but I smell Blair Witch syndrome here. The 90210 zip code was one, the serious professional speklunkers bashing a hole in a cave wall, the reluctance of the source to reveal any specific location was another, but the thing that really gave this the hoaxish feel was the big dramatic buildup on the last page and the two guys happening to meet up at the same 'overlook'. I'd guess that somewhere there is a wadded up film prospectus and a script in a wastebasket.

I'm not reading anymore of that story, scared the sh*t out of me. As if you would go back, if you really needed to I would take heaps of friends say 15 definitly a flame thrower and somthing to widens up the passages.

A work of pure fiction, but WOW!!!

Who-ever wrote that is one hell of an author. Good enough to give Stephen King or Dean Koontz a run for their money.

Two thumbs way up - I couldn't take my eyes off this story until finished. Cliffhanger ending.... Genius!

Like I said there was another post/thread about this subject.

(I think the other guys were talking about making a movie too, so to the guy who is making a movie about this creepy story. Be quick, cause u aint the first to come up wit that idea!)

Now, the majority on that thread did the exact same thing as u J and others on this thread has done, they reasearched this story, and the conculsion was

Fake.

The reason they came to this I cant get now, but if u want Ill try and find that other thread (if I gets probs I know ats can help out) But I think it was due to the fact that like what u were saying J and others on this thread is that the story is not quite original, and now that openminded has brought forward the rest of the pages,

To me something dosent add up.

I mean why cut off 7/8 pages and have people think that is the way it was. Then come back to it and try to finish it when the whole world is talking about it.

Seems very blair wicth to me too, The first Blair witch would have been more beliveable,

If they just left it at the first one, and didnt even bother to bring out the last 2 movies.

But saying all that -lol. U never know, Like J said (Journey) guys this is only my view so if it is true then tihis is what I propose.

Us on this thread and get some of our own buddies, (all together that must come to around 30/50 guys girls)-owww that would be some get together wouldnt it!

All go to this place and kick ass (or at the very least have a blast!)

hey yekway, if you happen to remember where the thread is, let me know, I missed that one- I guess these days there is no keeping up with the board. I really enjoy everyone's comments here, including yours . It is reallly amazing how the story gets to the "what if" side of our reasoning, isn't it?

I do have to come out about this one and say: Brilliant story, loved the page 11 detail and just emailed the registrar of the site to give him my compliments.

the whois address saying who registed the website is defenly fake. frank stevens thos are common names that pop up in anyones head when theya re not going to use their real name. also the 1313 mockingbird lane. its from a tv show and the 90210 beverly hills zip code is a zipe code that would pop into anyones head. i use it all the time to estimate shipping costs to the west cost since that is the only one i konw.

so if he would use a fake address and name to register his site then its most likely the store is not real

That was nice, I actually called the people and got hold of the guys girlfriend or wife, and I complimented them for hosting it also. She said they wanted the story to live- and I agree, as well as many others.

i have to say that i was on the edge of my seat the whole time i was reading it..i was skeptical throughout but my subconscious wanted me to believe ..as the story went on my heart rate picked up and beat faster and faster...with bout 3 pages to go i wanted to see how much longer the story was..thats when i found out the 11th page was empty..i kept reading and knew it was hoax after the 9th page..but it was one of the best and scariest short stories ive ever read...the writer puts u in that cave with him...u feel like u r right there..right behind him...he preys on our fears and won the battle easily with me...it would've been kool if it was a real story..but nonetheless it was great entertainment for an hour!!

Yeah it was a good story, good elements and great hype. The guy who wrote it can certainly write worth a damn. Even it it's completely fabricated I was anxious to read the 11th page, just for a sake of a good story.

I just let my wife read this story, I was cleaning up my favorites and came acrossed it, I wanted her to read it, she was also quite annoyed that the story ended at page 11, as for the rewritten version, that link is gone, probably deleted since it was a rip off of the original story.

Still a good memorable story, scared the crap out of me

Was the movie "The Cave" perhaps inspired by this?

All my time, and out of all the stories I have read here. This one was the best.
