Celtic starlet Aidan McGeady has backed Martin O'Neill's plans to overhaul the squad next season.

The Republic of Ireland international, who has broken into the side next season, believes the squad needs strengthening if they are to challenge in Europe next season.

"It looks like there will be changes during the summer and I think everyone would say that they're needed," said McGeady.

Neil Lennon has dropped his biggest hint yet that he is willing to finish his career at Celtic.

The combative midfielder is out of contract in the summer and had been expected to lead an exodus of stars out of Celtic Park, following Martin O'Neill's decision to quit the Glasgow giants.

Several Premiership clubs had been thought to be weighing up a move for the economical passer but it now appears he could be ready to ink fresh terms at Celtic.

Konchesky to Celtic?

Celtic are reportedly eyeing a move for Charlton Athletic's Paul Konchesky, as new manager Gordon Strachan looks to stamp his own image on the squad. The Scottish tactician has identified the 24-year-old as a candidate to fill in at left-back at Celtic Park, with reports in England suggesting that Addicks boss Alan Curbishley would be willing to let Konchesky go for around 1 million.

Celtic midfielder Neil Lennon claims he is ready to sign a new contract at Parkhead following the appointment of Gordon Strachan as manager.

The 33-year-old's current contract is due to expire in the coming weeks and he had been linked with a move from Glasgow.

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce made clear his desire to land the former Leicester man who moved to Celtic to be reunited with Martin O'Neill in December 2000.

Celtic defender Bobo Balde is set to meet new manager Gordon Strachan to sort his future at the club. The Guinea centre-back had appeared to be on his way out of Celtic Park with Bayern Munich expressing their interest. But Hoops boss Strachan claimed the 29-year-old "must have a fear of leaving Celtic" when he was unveiled as new manager on Tuesday. But Balde's adviser, Michael Oliver, insists the former Toulouse defender wants to discuss his future at the club with Strachan as soon as possible.

Stephane Henchoz's agent has confirmed the Swiss defender has joined the list of players leaving Celtic.

The 30-year-old international left Liverpool and agreed a short-term move to Celtic Park in January but failed to make an impact in Glasgow.

Celtic defender Ulrik Laursen has revealed that Leicester City have made new inquiries about his availability.

The Dane was not a regular under Martin O'Neill and is waiting to hear whether he has a future now that Gordon Strachan has become Celtic manager.

Ambitious Bundesliga outfit Schalke have revealed they would like to bring Celtic defender Bobo Balde to Gelsenkirchen.

Balde's future at Celtic looks uncertain with the giant defender reported to have a clause in his contract allowing him to leave Parkhead on a free transfer.

Royal Blues boss Ralf Rangnick is looking for a right-sided defender to replace Niels Oude Kamphuis who left the Arena AufSchalke for Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the season and it would appear that the Guinean international is high on the club’s shopping list.
