part of the lyrics are...

"nothing's going to stop us now, tonight we're on the loose"

I believe it's from the 80s... it's a rock song.

It's not the "nothing's gonna stop us now" by Starship.

thanks:bnghd::bnghd:

On The Loose
by Saga

One day you feel quite stable
The next you're comin' off the wall
But I think that you should warn me
If you start heading for a fall
I see the problem start
I watch the tension grow
I see you keeping it to yourself
And then instead of reaching conclusions
I see you reaching for something else
No one can stop you now
Tonight you're on the loose
No one to tell you how
Tonight you're on the loose
I see no harm or danger in escaping
If the method suits the style
We put the mind on idle
And let the others take it for awhile
When the pace is too fast
And I think I won't last
You know where I'll be found
I'll be standing here beside myself
Getting ready for the final round
No one can stop me now
Tonight I'm on the loose
No one to tell me how
Tonight I'm on the loose
The time we feel most stable
Is the time we're comin' off the wall
And there's every indication
We may be heading for a fall
So let the problems start
And let the tension grow
We'll be keeping it to ourselves
And while they're busy reaching their conclusions
We'll be reaching for something else
No one can stop us now
Tonight we're on the loose
No one to tell us how
Tonight we're on the loose

I must confess, elevatedone, to never having heard it. And I might not ever either!

Visage were just a new romantic crossover between Ultravox and Magazine members, with Steve Strange on vocals. They were best known for "Fade To Gray".

This was "Beat Boy".

The siren screams to start the day
You get up early to earn your pay
Push the button throw that switch
Turbines roar their unholy pitch
I listen I can hear
Pounding like thunder
Pistons push the steel on steel
Steam filled air turns the wheel
The wheel in turn takes the strain
Pounds the beat again and again
(Chorus):
Metal on metal
The feeling of steel
Someone is driving
But you've got the wheel
The workers sing the same old song
Machines in motion they're never wrong
You think in time you will be free
But a factory man is what you'll be
I listen I can hear
Pounding like thunder
Pistons push the steel on steel
Steam filled air turns the wheel
The wheel in turn takes the strain
Pounds the beat again and again
(Chorus.)
Angry young men look to the west
Speak for yourself you'll pass the test
Fortune beholds the brave so they say
Questions unanswered the risk they might pay
I listen I can hear
Pounding like thunder.
(Chorus.)

Two out of two.

MaskedAvatar accepts the plaudits, and departs, humbly, mission accomplished.

OK.

Fair's fair.

This may be a little tougher... please help Aussies amongst you! And others!

Late 2001-early 2002, there was a song getting a heap of airplay on JJJ. It was often paired with Iggy Pop's 'Corruption' in the same bracket, to give you the vintage.

It was very bluesy rock, loud three-chord bar-room stuff, it sounded most like Blue Ruin's 'Bad Gin' of 15 years + ago. Its own title was two words. The first word was either "Bad" or "Big", or "Sam" or "Sid".

It wasn't Sam Hall (Johnny Cash) or Sam Hill (Helmet), it was definitely Australian (probably Melburnian), and I would pick the band as being 2-3 years old at the time, good tight stuff.

Come on, help me out. Look how helpful I have tried to be, and succeeded.

Help me! Please! Help me! (original The Fly movie).

I have tried a few sites, including JJJ's for their playlists, and sites with Oz band features of the time, to no avail. I will give something of tangible value to anyone that correctly identifies.

Bumpety-bump.

Obscure, perhaps, untraceable, no.

I have not yet given up.
