Thank you very much, I wrote it a while ago and never really found a place to show it to people.

Midnight Rising

Sunset fading, rising moon
Shady creatures lurking near,
Piercing gazes up above
Darkend skies no longer clear,

Enchanted laughter, fateful death
Evil tidings blackness draws,
Shattered dreams no more meth
Shoot me fill me one more time

Round about me light beings seen
Drawing near, reaching hands
Lightness shining bright and clear
Truly peaceful no demands

~ I wrote this as it came to me, just a spontaneous poem with no reason ~

War takes talent.
These things I know.
War takes courage.
To the battle I must go.
I might be mighty, I might be grand,
For if I win, I get this land.
War
A Shogun am I, A proud, strong one.
I fight and sweat, right under the sun.
War
I fight like a tiger, I fight like a bear.
The battle will rage, the day will be won.
3,000 lost, the blood, cold red.
Lying in the blood, the tears of the dead.
War

Hi everyone, sorry to crash your post.
I'd just like to say that I think all your poems were fantastic!. It inspired me to write a poem myself about how I was feeling the other day. Been on seriously strong anti-depressants for a while now. Usually I'm ok, but sometimes the dark thoughts come out. It's nowhere as near as good as any of yours, but I think it's a good way to express the feelings.
here goes....

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
A haunted young man staring back at me
Eyes that were bright are now dull and sad
What happened to make the whole world seem so bad?

Where was the young man with the world at his feet?
Once carefree, outgoing; now shy and discreet
The zest, the spirit, the spark have all left
Feelings of joy, hope and happiness I now am bereft

I once had a spirit, its something I miss
Couldnt hold it as it fell into the abyss
Of despair, of love lost and ambitions long gone
I only see darkness where light had once shone

Winter is coming; its when most life dies
Sounds strangely attractive, now theres a surprise
Would it make any difference if I were dead?
Just take a few pills and lie in my bed

Not to wake, nor once more, see the first light of dawn
Would anyone care if I was gone?
Of course therell be tears and a short time of grief
The people I love will have the belief

That well meet once again in the Kingdom of God
Belief I dont have, I think its a fraud
When I die its all over, no feeling, no presence
No Heaven, no Hell, no corporeal essence

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
The eyes of a man, soon no longer to be

regards
FLC

Suicide

For if i was a wave,
How free their hate i could be
Looking toward a lifeless hope,
Among the waters i could see
A drifting shadow calling out,
Come my child, walk with pride,
Don't look back now,
Free thy mind, take my hand
And follow me beyond this land.

Fragment by John Clare

Language has not the power to speak
What love indites:
The soul lies buried in the ink that writes.

Fateful Death

Where is this place
So many grieve for
Those forgotten by the rest

Who is this Executioner
So many fear
For their lives through endless tears

What is this fire
So many hate
This is the fire
That ends all fate

The Day

The Day is close
Surrender to it
Never leave it
Only grieve

The hour is near
Beware of it
Never leave it
Only fear

The minute is here
Fear it
Never leave it
Take your share

My Enemy, My Friend

My friend,
Now my enemy
With whom I talked
When i was low

I was always there
For my friend
Through rough
And sad times.

Not one friendly sign
Was I shown
From my friend
Never kind.

Then one day
I died,
Deceased forever,
And that's when
My friend cried.

Life and Death

Floating in the wind of free
A bright new golden leaf i see
Through wispering breeze
And challenging sea
It floats along
With life and sheen
The sky grows dim
The leaf falls silent
Without a sound
C'ept threatening calls
Near waters rim
The leaf now crumbles
To the ground
Only leaving
Ashes found.

Here is my low-quality poem. Please enjoy responsibly.

Knight Errant: A Quasi-Epic Poem

He dreams of a place with a bloody sky,
With splintered moon and sun up high,
Where men fight and die to no avail,
Immortal souls freed by dying wail.

Over the hill he would rise,
Above the field but neath fiery skies,
This is his place, a warriors dream,
A place where blood fills the streams.

Descended he into the fray,
For, he thought, theres no other way!
The man whose sword I wield
Said Come back in glory or on your own shield.

Down he came like a wolf in the fold,
As an avenging angel from tales untold,
The foe looked up only to see
A lone horseman, as if cavalry.

His sword he drew, blade a flashing,
His shield was ready, his horse a dashing,
Prepared was he to enter his world,
A place where the melee mixd and swirled.

Blades sung, hammers pealed,
Axe swung, men revealed,
Banners were lifted, trumpets were blown,
This is the place where men were grown.

Swords flashed, spears readied,
But our young hero was as true as steady.
Blood flew, men died,
Grievances made, loyalties tried.

The steed was stopped, by man and by blade,
And our hero cried out in vain.
His horse slain, he fought on foot,
His life, his fate in his hands were put.

Bravely he fought, with dagger and sword,
But his shield was broke, his armor worn.
Inch for inch, blood was shed,
Not only his enemys, his own he bled.

Weary did our hero grow,
But fear did his valor sow,
Soon his enemies fled the field,
Before this brave young man had kneeled.

But kneel he did, as the foe did flee,
For dying he was, and know it did he.
The angels flew, clad in green and in white,
Down did they come from the fiery heights.

His sword was shattered, his steed was slain,
His mail was broken, he in pain.
As he lay in the mud on field,
He cried out the last thing he knew to be real:

Im coming to you in glory, Father!

This is the bleakest day.
Construing my lathargic way
Leaves burning to mulch
Ashes fill the sky
What a perfect day to die
No remorse for all around
For soon I'll be under ground
Goodbyes contained with in
Hollowed out and free from more sin
This bloody echo will finally leave my mind
And I can dwell free from love

My tolerence is gone
Anger resides
I cant live to be denied

No arisen tommorow
Good Riddence to this sorrow
One last pain to endure
For the one who cannot hear
One last drink
To calm my twitching wrists
One last breath

3d neon discharges of a neural reactor
Projecting astral thoughs in a lucid matter
Haunting the vision of a new altered state
Surrounding tracers coming from another date.
Transparent fragments of whole new sight.
Distoreted neon of a blue-green light
Conceiving the portraits of a next day
Designing a path to the electric way.
Coding destined answers that are encrypted.
Translating all this garbage left from the gifted
Embracing the passion of light and love
I want it all from the power above.

Realizing how much I miss you.
I am haunted by my caprice naivety.
Dreams of watching you.
Staring out a window crying from the pain I caused.
Looking as lovely as you did, all dressed in black.
Rewinding a feeling from the past.
Tears of love that I now bear.
Waking up to the emptyness that lies inside with out you.
And though I changed, your heart has become mine.
I just pray to share it with you.
Never feeling anything for another and loving it.
Dying for the day I find you again.
Just for one last caress.
To ease my soul for my only love that I have lost.
Whom is with me forever.

I was sitting alone in the horror lurking of the mind.
Experinecing fades of hopelessness, invading the slience of sanity.
Dweling in dreams, engulfing it all.
Praying for an escape of the nightmare.
Knowing there was a way out, seeing it in those around.
Wanting the bliss and tranqulity that they contained.
Only weakness was seen and mockery was spawned.
My feelings were fallen upon deaf souls.
The Razor's edge would set me free.
My darkest hour turned into seconds.
Feeling my somber the radient soul lifted me.
Invoking a charm so subtle but yet so warm I felt beauty.
I was no longer dead but blessed, for which I longed for.
This siren killed the dream of the damned.

Love.

Delighted I was and felt as I were to awake any moment.

And the Angels wept in delight and jealously.

For they could not have what we concieved

As they still search for the union that sealed our alligence.

For many incarnations to come.

Too much time to think about the future
Not enough time to deal with the sane
But the feeling remains the same...
You make me laugh, you make me cry
With out you I want to die
There is no other way
She confiscated my mind, wont leave, bulit me up and brought me down.
With no shame I Linger
The time is coming
Just to see more of you
And I see all the things that
they could do to please you
Keeping quiet I pray
Other women are a thing of the past
And I would do anything for her time
My friends think I am crazy
They could be right...
And she might be the same
All the men pass and lust is lost
But im still here to take you away
My feelings will never fade
So I stay alone for now
Never alone in my heart

Do the Dance... Round and Round
Do the Dance... Straight and Narrow
Do the Dance.... Bow and take a Seat

Twirl around...., step in line..., Dosey Do..., and REPEAT!
Believe..., lie..., hurt..., feel remorse..., then believe!
Change your partner! Change your step! Change your pace...

Do The Dance... All in Line
Do The Dance... Dont Be Shy
Do The Dance... Judge a rhyme

Out of Breath... Out of Step...Step right back
Take a Break...Grab A Drink...Repeat

Do The Dance... Psychotropic ants
Do The Dance... Megalomanic rants
Do the Dance... Waltzing fates....

Wow...

...totally blown away by the amazing words, the energy and emotional expression delivered through the formed lines...great stuff Sapphire, WebDevil, funlovincriminal, DeusEx and Revebo...

Definitely Applauds all round.

And I agree...we need a Poetry Section, separate from the Fiction Forum...as for some the poems are not fiction at all, just their way of recounting the truth, their history. Perhaps if this thread explodes over time it will add wieght to a need for a Poetry Section *hint hint back at ya
*

...back to it then...

Language

Love forever and forever shall be,
Live in the love 'tween you and me.
Need your love and seek your touch,
Need your lips to please so much.
Need your shoulder upon which to cry,
Need our dreams combined to fly.

Love you need you, you I adore,
Want you forever like map to explore.
Secrets within are yours only to know,
Hidden places only to you show.
The voice noone hears only heard by you,
Voice of my heart speaks clear and true.

Listen closely for it speaks again,
Of times soon, times far, times to the end.
Language unknown to anyone but us,
Language of ancients...language of love.
Translation is simple, requires only your heart,
Its words weave such wonder once whispering starts...

Injector

Kind words are just that,
They mean nothing more.
'less ya think that they do,
Then they'll fall to the floor.

Sometimes I wonder if it is better,
To be a cold hearted love-rejector,
Instead of an inspiration injector,
Inspiration, misinterpretation, whatever.

Never had problems with a heart like a stone,
Used to be nasty and they would leave me alone,
But now that I'm different and some warmth I have shown,
Seems everything I say gets all twisted and overblown.

Walking

Blending,
Extending one day into another.
Converging,
Emerging from what once was eachother.
Rolling,
Unfolding glacier-flow slow,
Remaining,
Explaining what one doesn't know.

Mindnumbing,
Succumbing to temporal whim.
Needing,
Bleeding a trail for the Grim.
Lying,
Denying I feel anything.
Breathing,
Relieving the pain of loves sting.

Living,
Giving into the wishes of Fate.
Raging,
Staging a time for the hate.
Releasing,
Ceasing to be bound anymore,
Walking,
Chalking it up to lives before.

Peace,
ALIEN

Thanks for the applause, Alien. having read your work in this post, I take it as a big compliment, as I'm sure the others do.

Once again your poems hit the spot - damn good work
