Muaddib, would the radio station where you originally heard about the Pakistani reporter's story also have podcast capability? Thanks for this
post.
I can recommend some recent books which confirm much about Osama's status, and about his future intentions:
Current N.Y. Times bestsellers (see the hardcover nonfiction list) which cover these topics include The Looming Tower by Lawrence Wright, summarized
on:
www.loomingtower.com...
The Looming Tower (copyright 2006 by Knopf Publishing) supplies a great many facts which in retrospect I have to say were rather obviously excluded
from the official 9/11 Report, particularly with regard to Saudi Arabia. This book also clarifies that Osama's medical condition is almost certainly
Addison's Disease, not kidney failure per se. Luckily for Osama, his associate Dr. Zawahiri is a first-class physician. ...Not to spill the beans
totally, but one of Osama's goals for Al Quaeda is the complete and permanent removal of U.S. forces from the Middle East. Thus, an upcoming attempt
in the U.S. at some sort of major terror event would be justified, in Osama's point of view, by the continued U.S. presence in the Middle East.
The other recent book which dissects the post-9/11 Middle East, with several insightful pre-9/11 interviews with Osama, is The Great War for
Civilization, by Robert Fisk, a veteran British reporter on the Middle East (copyright 2005 by HarperCollins). At over 1,000 pages, it's hardly a
quick read, but it paints a detailed picture of recent Middle East events against their historic backdrop, making the long list of Western errors in
Middle East policy perfectly clear.
On yesterday's CNN Lou Dobbs show, there was a brief report about a claim that Hezbollah members have entered into the U.S. from Mexico during the
last two years. That report was followed by a video clip of Texas Governor Rick Perry saying, "Anyone who still thinks that terrorists have not used
our broken borders to enter the U.S. from Mexico is naive."
