Interesting poin Strateryx -
I was always under impression that the "redneck" culture was predominantly influenced by the Apalachians and Cajuns - who I believe were decended from the first french settlers.

It really doesnt matter where these people heralded from - if they are KKK we really dont want them back over here - and to be balanced and honest - neither do we want the Guardian Angels or any of the LA "Possee" gangs.

Same goes for German Right Wingers, French Socialists and Italian Fascists

We are quite capable of creating a mess of our own nations multi cultural mix without outside interference thnk you very much.

Just to appraise any of you - from the UK are amazed that the KKK is here. You have been able to buy KKK pins at a certain football ground for a number of years - having personally seen an individual sporting a number of them before a game - and inquired as to just where they came from. I refer back to my comment on Hooliganism and its connection to the BNP/NF.

im not amazed, just shocked cause i always thought the KKK as just angry white Americans. Never thought they would become so national

As interethnic conflict is an area in which I have studied - I would say that you might be surprised just how close ties in supposed "national" groups go when you look at the international picture. The KKK and BNP/NF are a natural - given a common language and culture - but surprisingly enough there are alleged (I use the word because I dont have facts to back this statement up to hand) links between our NF and German Neo- Nazis - forged through football of all things. Now that was a surprise given the traditional World Cup rivalry of England and Germany.

Silk, thank you for that post. I knew the BNP backed the KKK, but BNP said they would like to distance themselves from the national front due to their "extreme" views.

Silk,

to answer an earlier question......

David Duke was KKK and was Lousianna govornor.

And in the old days, when the Klan was alot more secretive, alot of southern politicans were KKK.

And yes, the vast majority of southerners are Celtic in descent. This is obvious listening to country and bluegrass, where its roots are. Go down south, and youll find so many McCanns, Murphys, Campbells, McKinnons,.so on and so forth. The Cajuns are pretty much limited to Louisinna. The avergae poor southern Farmer was scitch irish, while the average plantion owner/souther aristocracy was either French of Anglo.

Ill reserve my rants for R and B on the BTS side..when ever i get there.

Thanks for that clarification Skadi - I guess Deliverence has a lot to answer for regarding some of my "redneck" perceptions. They cant be all that bad though - they do go to watch NASCAR racing after all

And thank you for keeping the thread on track - I think this one could be interesting as we delve deeper into the line between British Conservative politics and the link with Right Wing Nationalism.

Sorry to back to back post -

Infinite - the very idea that the BNP view the stance of the NF as extreme is hilarious - the closest paralllel i guess i can find is the "distance" between the INLA and IRA after the Airey Neve bombing during the 70s.

(that distance as expressed to me by a former member of the INLA was - "as fast as you could run from the *expletive deleted*")

BNP?Thats what I dont get. You already have BNP. Why the Klan now? They are practically the same thing, pne is a heavily American version of rascism, the other is a very British one. Why import one or the other?

I have noticed, however, with my hate group tracking, that it seems, since hate groups are really dying out, they are consolidating forces and such. The are forgetting national borders and moving to what they call a "pan aryan" movement, the surpass borders, and work in unison to overthrow any govornment that basically isnt looking out for "white" interests.

Look how Skinhead culture was imported here from the UK for reference. Hammerskins, last time I checked, even have chapters in spain and italy.

Thats actually my point Skadi - whilst the article sensationalises the idea of the KKK being here - we dont really need them. The BNP and NF are already connected to them - and have been for a long time. Another example if one is needed - at the football ground I mentioned earlier it was also possible to get copies of tapes of white supremicist songs - in the interests of taste and out of respect to the board I cant list the content of them. However - as bone fides to their existance I sure someone will be able to identify a lyric regarding Lyndon B Johnson and Water skiing. These tapes were bootlegs were supposedly supplied by the KKK to assist fund raising.

My point is simply - the KKK have been here for a long while - but hidden behind other organisations. It now seems that having now attained political office in the UK certain groups are useing the noteriety of the name and their connections to further their own causes.

For now, thats all ti is, sensationalism and a joke, really.

But if they are uniting, and combing resources to wage assault on all opposition...

Remeber, Hitler and the Nazis at one time got less than 2% of the vote in Germany. When things turned really bad, they got 98%.
'
So, its something to watch. For now, they are simply sensationist riot sponsoring geeks with nothign else to do, but should things take a steep downturn....

I just cant digest this. When I think Klansmen, I think a bunch of inbred southern boys with drawls, pickup trucks, and "how to best drag a 'n-word' behind your truck" instruction videos.

I thought these genetic jokes in white sheets had been pretty much inbred out of existance in the US. Guess I better keep up to date on my hate groups a little better....

FYI...Pennsylvania (which I'm pretty sure isn't in the South) is a huge center for Klan activity. And...living in the South...I object to the inbred, drawls and pickup truck comment. That's SOOOOOOOOOOOO yesterday.

I think the point here is sensationalism - the BNP and National Front have been keeping the racist home fires warm for many years - and exporting their own brand of thuggery through the auspices of organised football holiganism for plenty of years. I dont really see what the KKK can bring to the party - try looking up details on the Bradford Riots of a couple of years ago.

Just for info - has any actual acknowledged KKK member won a seat in the US legislature ? or local council ? - dont know where to look for that info from over here. However as an indication of just how racist we can be - people have actually voted some of these clowns into public office over here (the BNP).

The BNP have two seats in the EU Assembly. With the rest of the Clowns. None in the House of Commons. Every BNP local election candidate to date has lost their deposit.
