WASHINGTON (CNN) -- By granting absolution to a convicted moonshiner, George W. Bush also earned the unique distinction of becoming the first president to pardon a cast member of the 1972 Academy Award-nominated movie "Deliverance."

What a stroke of luck for the moonshiner... What would compel George, i wonder?
A moonshiner????

www.cnn.com...

I know he's entitled to do it, but seems a little ironic....moonshine.

Unlike a certain "proper" application of a presidential pardon, like this.

I take it your overwhelmed by the "booze" factor... As if George can now score a little "white lightning" should he venture into rural Georgia.

How'd you guess???

Exactly what i think. I'm entitled. Just ironic, that Bush has been accused of boozing and playing with boys.

Okay, okay, I know SOMEBODY is going to say the line "Squeal like a pig boy!"

So I just HAD to say it, just to get it out of the way.

So it is OK to pardon terrorist? How about big donors to the party of choice. This is an environmental move..............moonshine can replace the 85/15 gas................

It really a brilliant environmental asset..............

Thermopolis,

That is brilliant.

I knew there was good reason.

for a president that had a very poor record of pardons as a governor in Texas it does seems like an irony for all the people he sentenced to death.

Irony indeed.
