i may be well off here and i am far from well versed with the present aug 22 situation but it would appear to me that if iran is to use a nuke on the 22nd (as seems to be the general vibe amongst the more worried of you?) wouldnt the ideal target for them be Iraq?

They get to take out their old enemy and also hit the uk and american troops in a big way.

Is anyone else thinking this?

I could be way off line with my thinking on this post so be gentle.

No, nuking Iraq would be the last thing Iran would do, even if it is crawling with infidels.

For starters, the Iranians have their own agents trying to stir up the Shiites, they wouldn't nuke them.

Iraq was never Iran's enemy, only Saddam was. Remember, 60% of Iraq is Shiite, which is the sect of Islam that Iran embraces. The Iranians have always been supportive of the Shia majority, which was another factor in the border war with Iraq. Saddam was brutal towards the Shiites, being raised a Sunni himself.

Plus, Iran would not risk radioactive contamination in their own backyard.

I honestly doubt that Iran has weapons-grade plutonium yet.

And the previous poster, Skadi, is right. A nuclear deployment in Iraq would seriously disrupt the operations iranian forces are already working on in Baghdad and major cities.

You beat me to it. Iran wants to nuke Jews not their own. But about the backyard fallout, if Iran used a nuke I'm sure backyard would be the least of their worries.

dude that is indeed a chilling post...

I really really do not like the way iran is shaping up - Any one else think that the Iranians are getting their house in order for a long haul ultra conservative islamic war??

get rid of all of the people who pursue peace, replace them with war talkers, and you have 1937 all over again
