The Batman cartoons of the late 80s/early 90s were great!
As a kid, it was (and still is) Looney Tunes, the original and still the best. The godlike genius of Mel Blanc, the characters, the animation, the
music... it has yet to be bettered, frankly, and the WB resurrection is piffling and pallid by comparison.
And the Wacky Races/Dick Dastardley and Muttley toons had a certain influence.
And how could one forget Top Cat? Especially since the rapper out of Cypress Hill stole Choo-Choo's voice. That was cool.
Of the more recent stuff -
Samurai Jack - AWESOME.
I also like the Power Puff Girls, believe it or not.
And of course, Family Guy, American Dad, and South Park - sadly, I think the Simpsons peaked many years ago and should really have been canned way
back.
Roger, the alien in American Dad, has a voice that is modelled on that of The Hooded Claw (from Penelope Pitstop), who in turn was modelled on a
character actor whose name I just can't recall, though his first name might be Paul. Nope, it's going to bug me now... aha. Paul Lynd, I think.
And my favourite American Dad line of all time... "We're going to MEXICO! Or, as I like to think of it, 'God's blind spot!'"
And the Maakies animations are way cool, though they're not on mainstream tv.
