I think you might find the following article interesting:

British SAS soldier refuses to fight in Iraq

A BRITISH SAS soldier has refused to fight in Iraq and has left the army over the "illegal" tactics of US troops and the policies of coalition forces.

After three months in Baghdad, Ben Griffin told his commander that he was no longer prepared to fight alongside American forces.

He said he had witnessed "dozens of illegal acts" by US troops, claiming they viewed all Iraqis as "untermenschen" - the Nazi term for races regarded as sub-human.

The decision sets a remarkable precedent, marking the first time a Special Air Service soldier has refused to go into combat and quit on moral grounds.

Mr Griffin's allegations came as British Foreign Office Minister Kim Howells, visiting Basra on Saturday, admitted that Iraq was now "a mess".

Indeed - a MESS.

So, tell me - why did mister SAS commando refuse his Duty due to the ILLEGAL TACTICS used by the Coalition in Iraq?

What do you think that word ILLEGAL involves?

Kidnap?

Torture?

Assassinations?

Car Bombs?

False Flag Ops?

Naaaaaaaaaaah.

He was probably thinking soldiers of the Coalition cheat at Poker.

That must be the reason why he don't want to serve along side the American forces. Didn't say anything else including false flag as you mentioned on your list.

i believe the central goal for the USA was to position a large ground force permanently on the ground in the worlds 2nd largest oil producing nation....following the election of socialist Chavez in Venezuela which was equal 2nd worlds biggest oil exporting nation.....

so iraq is no "mess" from the perspective of the american foreign policy planners at all....everything is going extremely nicely for them.....false flag operations against religious monuments would make perfect operational tactics sense in this explanation of strategic intelligence....

Ummm because they look too British maybe?
Maybe you like to look into the methods and tactics of Special Forces.

man dressed as Arab in a vehicle full of weapons in the middle of Iraq war zone = insurgent...

...hence they shouldve been shot on the spot

PostGradSpy:

I absolutely agree, the war is a smashing success !!!
No oil coming out of Iraq means higher gas prices around the world=more profit
Constant fighting means weapons sales are going trough the roof=more profit

Businessmen dont care about ideologists on both sides dying for their ideal. If the war goes on forever, the y will be more than happy

insurgents dont have tanks.

So? An anti tank weapon can be used on any vehicle, hence why it is. Unless you have an ANTI truck weapon? Or an anti car weapon? Or an anti container weapon?

Maybe they were going to sell the weapons for all i know. Dont forget they were DRESSED AS ARABS.

Mabye were selling challangers to the local police, or mabye selling a tornado or two while their at it.
Buy a tank and get 2 land rovers FREE.
So what they were dressed as the local population, thats what comandos do.

oh c mon you just need a few good men to make a mess.

Yes but those few good men still need hundreds of men backing them up : Support, logistics, recon, etc.
Yes you can hide under the influences of "comando raids" but with the numbers needed for iraq it wouldnt work.

All it took to start the war in Bosnia were a few good snipers shooting at both sides.

Mabye you forgot the millions of men that died in the first 2 world wars , the first one starting because of bosnia, it was not just started by a few good snipers.

Yeah good enough for the rest of the world though, but unless its on ___ its not news now is it. My link was BBC

Was it? Funny it said "global research" on the link.
BBC is no more currupt than any other media outlet.

ever tried the big picture for size?

Yeah I have, and I see a diffrent one to you. A far worse one.

no dude, lets stage another drill and do it then, werent you paying attention?

Another drill?
Eh?

He didnt, he refused to work with americans as far as I read and frankly I dont take his word for gospel but ofcourse you do.
All we have is this guys word, which is enough to merit listening but you only need to look up andy mcnab and chris ryan to see what can come out of the british army.

Does it?
Wow does that mean anyone wearing arab clothes can now be shot on the spot if they step onboard a vehicle with a knife?

...hence they shouldve been shot on the spot

Why? You want another black sunday?

Did the reporters get more than one source that British soldiers are laying bombs. Hmmm.... this seems like a made up story.

Here is a story I found.
" (edited) started a thread on ATS and quoted a story found on the web that is not real. (edited) is trying to say the British military is bad, but is really trying to cover for the cowards that bomb civilians. The foreign fighters in Iraq that are muslim are not occupiers either? This story is made up just like (edited) story, but I can write it on my website if you want to; to make it real news."

Go back and check the source in my first post here. And if all you are going to do is attack me don't post. Check the terms of service before continuing.

why is it that whenever a new thread comes into place here saying iran supports insurgency or delivers IEDS without any proof but yet whenever american soldiers are doing the crimes with british soldiers as well in iraq with the evidence their people just say it BS???

You are witnessing the massive power of the western main stream media man!!

As a member of that media...

I'd just like to say, when there's proof, there's a story.

Hello Abu Ghraib, anyone?

Remember those photos of British soldiers that were published? You know, the ones that were fake? The ones they had to apologised for publishing...

They care for the antion of Iraq including its people, and I bet most foreign soldiers there couldn't care less.

Why would the British military have any motivation to get on one side (or the other) of the sectarian strife?

It is pure lose for them, and similarly for USA.

I can't even figure out which side the British were supposedly bombing.

Also remember that it's possible that Britons, as individuals, are going over to Iraq to jihad somebody or another due to varied religious and political reasons.

how about White Flag Operation??

how about British nationals loyal to annother small country in the middle east?? who would be that country?

War is critical for trade.

Trade is critical for war.

My family and friends are making millions of dollars right now with this false war on terror. The last thing we want it to do is end.

We will do anything to anyone to keep the billions rolling in.

How many people have good honest terrorists killed in the last year.

Heart disease has killed 100 times that amount.

The normal flu last year killed more people than terrorists.

The war on terror and AL CIA DA is only about MONEY.

MONEY MONEY MONEY. Not democracy, not weapons, not oil, nothing but money.

Please keep the war going because we are getting filthy rich off of your peasant asses.

So they had an anti tank weapon, that could be anything from a LAW or a MILAN, btw they have those because insurgents have vehicles. If you know of a better way to stop a suicide bomber in a truck packed with explosives then please say so.

insurgents dont have tanks. Maybe they were going to sell the weapons for all i know. Dont forget they were DRESSED AS ARABS.

And in NI they were, would you belive it, DRESSED AS IRISH (would someone turn the volume down, please?).

I know, I'll put on my jeans, docs and bomber jacket to take a stroll through the Basra market, no-one will look at me twice. Or maybe you'd prefer I pull out my three-peice and old school tie, or how about a pair of brogues and trews to go with them?...

In Rhodesia the Sealous Scouts dressed as black men, in Afghanistan in the 80s it seemed okay for operators to be dressed in local clothes when they were with the Mujahideen...cops dress as kids, bikers, little old ladies...what changed?

Maybe they were going to sell the weaons for all i know

If that's all you know, then your surmise is nothing more than a subtraction from the sum total of knowledge.

no dude, lets stage another drill and do it then, werent you paying attention?

To who, the tinfoil kafiyeh brigade?

Malichai, I am sorry if I offended you personally. As I did not know term of service.

I still think the this story is very suspect about British soldiers planting bombs. All media is a point of view. I am glad you are exposing us to other points of views. It does not mean I have to agree with it. A war is going on, and people are dying. American, British and "Puppet" Iraqi goverment military (as your link stated. Even if it was democratically elected.) are way more civilized in not trying to hurt civilians as best they can. Insurgents and foreign fighter occupiers (hey I can use a slant too.), do not care if civilians are hurt generally.

I stll don't believe in trying to invade a country, so it can have a democracy. It seems to defeat the purpose. A country should be able to determine its own future. But Iran and Syria have been doing alot to mess things up too. This is a crappy situation. People from all around the world are fighting in Iraq, and Iraq's people suffer the most.
