WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice informed Congress on Wednesday that no U.S. assistance will be provided to a Hamas-led Palestinian government.
Rice told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee the Bush administration would not turn its back on such humanitarian programs as immunizing children against disease.

Unless the conditions are met, Canada could cut off assistance to the Palestinian government, a Harper spokesman signalled.
