New members are not always patient waiting for their "Mentor" to come online or answer a U2U or post a reply. When I was in counsil, I suggested a
chatroom for new members, so they could ask questions and get answers immediately. In this way "Mentors" could either sit in the new member
chatroom and wait for any questions or enter chatroom when they see a member in chat.
Doing this will keep the number of mentors to a minimum, your way will take a lot of mentors and the number will grow yearly.
Like a live support line, you find at many company sites.
