CANBERRA, Nov 2 (Reuters) - Australian Prime Minister John
Howard said on Wednesday he had received intelligence this week
about a "potential terrorist threat", but gave no further
details.
"The government has received specific intelligence from
police information this week which gives cause for serious
concern about a potential terrorist threat," Howard told
reporters in Canberra.
Howard refused to give details about the nature or location
of the threat, but said the government would rush through an
amendment to anti-terror laws to enable police to respond.
"I do not intend, and can not, go into any of the operational
details. We have seen material, it is a cause for concern," he
said.
The government is already preparing tough anti-terrorism
legislation that has sparked concern about civil liberties in the
country.
Australia, a staunch U.S. ally with troops in Iraq and
Afghanistan, has never suffered a major peacetime attack on home
soil. The country has been on medium security alert since shortly
after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.

Curiously this has been announced just as the government is trying to get it's controversial terror legislation through parlaiment

As with all of Howards threats, they only pop-up when he has legislate to pass.

When Bali was hit this year, Howard came out with his terror law proposal, that week the Police, anti-terror and bomb squads shut down St. Kilda Rd (major rd) in Melbourne for a few hours for an empty esky that was left at a bus stop, they shut down Adelaide Airport for 4 hours because of detergent which came out of a bag and they shut down one of Canberras major roads for a few hours because of a white van parked on the side of the road which turned out to be, shock-horror, a white van parked on the side of the road!!!
Each inccident was played on the media as a scare but thankfully our response was perfect and although they were false alarms and a major inconvenience, we showed how responsive our squads are. Basically, it was pure propaganda in order for the laws to pass.

Now he's trying to push these laws through while getting opposition from just about everyone and he discovers a new nameless threat. Yeah right.

If something goes down in Australia, it will be an inside job without doubt. There's been way to much BS coming out of Howard to believe anything else.

These laws are meant to help us 'not have a situation like in London' yet he wanted cops to have a shoot to kill policy so they wouldn't be suspect to law if they do kill an innocent person. He was thousands of CCTV cameras put everywhere, yet in London all the cameras which could provide valuable evidence magically didn't work.

It's all a load of crap. I'm just waiting for Howard to snap and really turn ugly. I don't think he's even begun to bring his NWO contribution to the forefront.

Retrospect is an amazing thing:

Is it just me or do others "see" that these reports seem to be localized to coalition nations?

Today it's Australia, next week it may be the UK, after that back to the good ole' USofA . . . followed by the remaining supportive nations involved in the WOT!

IMO it's getting old . . . and FAST!

Seems more the good ole' bait and switch smokescreen that, all the while, keeps the focus from the matters at hand within the respective goevernments!

we can never be exactly right as to where and wen terrorists will strike next. how can we? the CIA has a hard time infiltrating the cells along with others. not to mention Arab intelligence agencies are not to be trusted as well. informants can also be unreliable. satellites cant detect crap and even if it did it cant read crap's thoughts on its intentions. all we can get are just snips of warnings either from Islamic websites or people making rumors of attacks comin up. dont blame the Australian President for doin dis. dat is his job is to make people aware of their surroundings.

You are so right. It would be better to be somewhere like, oh, I dunno, Bali or maybe New Delhi. That way you don't have to hear about them before hand, only after.

Firstly, we don't have a presidential electorate so he's a Prime Minister, not a President.

Secondly, Howard is a lying sack of bollacks and his word is worthless. He proves over and over again that he'll tell the public anything if it helps push his totalitarian agenda.

The tripod nations, AUS, UK & USA are working off each other to push through a common agenda. If one nation mentions something, the others will follow using that nation as the example. Howard is getting to a point where the public are starting to see through him (it's harder with Howard because he's not an idiot like Bush and he doesn't try to be proper like Blair, he's smart and isn't afraid to mute a point if someone challanges him to it) and if Howard is continually challanged by the public, you can bet that ASIO along with the CIA will organise a bombing.

Sydney recently had it's entire underground rail system turned into a 3D CAD model for 'emergency management scenarios'. Look forward to a repeat of London in Sydney in 2006 while the security focus is in Melbourne for the Commonwealth Games (what's the bet Rudi Giuliani will be in the country then giving 'advice' to management groups?).

We already lost our gun rights when Howard and his NWO buddies staged the Port Arthur massacre where a man with the IQ of a child (mid-60's) apparently killed 20 people with head shots in a cafe, shooting off the hip and wounded 12 more with only firing 29 shots, which proffesional marksmen have stated could only be possible from an elite shooting team.

The shooter in the Broad Arrow Cafe at Port Arthur demonstrated all of the qualities of a trained counter-terrorist marksman but made no amateur mistakes. Always in motion and point shooting from the right hip with devastating accuracy, he killed twenty of the occupants with single shots to the head and wounded twelve more, firing a total of only 29 rounds. Using known techniques reported by witnesses, he ensured his own safety from attack by turning on the spot and staying outside grappling range. It was an awesome display of expertise, even by special forces standards. That he was point shooting from the hip is beyond question. The Colt AR15 allegedly used in the massacre was fitted with a wide-angle telescope sight designed for the Armalite AR180, mounted on the AR15 so crudely that it completely obscured the "iron" sights on top of the weapon. Thus the iron sights could not be used at all, and the range was much too short to use the telescopic sight. Remember that the shooter knew this before he entered the Broad Arrow Cafe, so must have been supremely confident in his point shooting ability. Sadly, his confidence was more than justified. To accuse intellectually-impaired Martin Bryant of this stunning performance was quite absurd, a point clearly shared by police interrogators on the 4th July 1996, who openly queried Bryant's shooting skills, with special reference to point shooting i.e. firing the Colt AR15 from the hip:-

Police: "And ahh, did you ever practice shooting from the hip?"

Bryant: "No never."

Police: "Did you get pretty accurate?"

Bryant: "No not really."

The cover-up and patsy situation which followed is a classic covert operation.
The out come was a man who never really understood what was happening, was put in prison for life in a isolation cell which is like hotel room and Australians had to sell their guns to the government.

Australia is a NWO leading nation. America is only the muscle in this game.

The Shroud Of Memphis is absolutely right. These are issued whenever Howard has a piece of legislation he wants rushed through.

Two big pieces of legisliation in the coming days and week.. Today (the same day we are told about these 'possible terrorist threats' they are trying to put through the new Workplace Reform (which is an absolutely load of crap and will make our system just like the horrible american one with very low wages (no offense)).

Then i beleive the next big piece of legislation is the new ANTI-TERRORISM legislation. There has been heavy opposition to this for a few reasons, mainly because of the new 'Shoot To Kill' laws they wanted implimented, aswell as the fact that these laws don't seem to have an end, or a re-review process to see if they are still needed down the track. I beleieve most people were pushing for 5-year reviews but it hink at the moment its about 10. Now it looks like this piece of legislation is going to be rushed through.

i guess the Austrailians are not so friendly even with its own people. and wat do u mean follow dat nation as an example? the U.S. Howard bans weapons but America has not ban weapons even though thousands of Americans are being killed by firearms. Bush refuses to renew the ban on assault rifles dat Clinton introduced.

shoot from the hip? dats a very good shot from a suppose counterterrorist training which dont train Special Forces soldier to shoot from hips. they shoot wen shouldering their weapon. who ever trained him would not be a good instructor.

maybe u should look at how he manage to hit so many people in the first place doing Rambo or Chuck Norris style. must be from the restaurant, people so close together pack like herds. and shooting people in a car wen trying wen walking next to them.

The point was that the small time the shots were fired in and the skill in which each person was shot was at a level of an elite counter-terrorism marksmen, not a full grown man with an IQ of 66. I'm sure they might not 'teach' shooting from the hip but if your life's job is to shoot people in a varity of situations, i'm sure you'd have a shooting skill above the average novice, let alone a semi-retard.

Here's the police map of the room and where the bodies were. As described, Bryant apparently turned on the spot and fired, didn't walk around shooting people and they were spread out over a decent distance.

"SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
IN THE BROAD ARROW CAFE"
The gunman rose from his chair at one of the tables in the Broad Arrow Cafe, removed the AR15 and spare magazine from a sports bag, immediately killing Mr Yee Ng with a shot to the upper neck, and Miss Chung with a shot to the head. Swivelling on the spot and firing from the right hip, the gunman fired at Mr Sargent who was wounded in the head, then killed Miss Scott with a shot to the head. The gunman continues through the Broad Arrow, next killing Mr Nightingale with a shot to the upper neck and Mr Bennet with a shot to the upper neck, with the latter bullet passing straight through and hitting Mr Ray Sharpe in the head with fatal results. Next Mr Kevin Sharpe was killed by a shot to the head and was also hit in the arm, with shrapnel and bone fragments from the second intermediate strike on Mr Kevin Sharpe then apparently wounding Mr Broome, and possibly Mr and Mrs Fidler.

Still firing from the hip the gunman swivelled and killed Mr Mills and Mr Kistan with single shots to the head, with shrapnel and skull fragments from those shots apparently wounding Mrs Walker, Mrs Law, and Mrs Barker. Again the gunman turned, shooting and wounding Mr Colyer in the neck, before swiveling and killing Mr Howard with a shot to the head. Next he shot Mrs Howard in the neck and head with fatal effect. The gunman turned back, killing Miss Loughton in the back. Moving towards the rear of the building the gunman shot Mr Elliot in the head, causing serious injuries.

ELAPSED TIME 15 SECONDS.........
The above sequence is the best the forensic scientists could deduce from the crime scene and there may be small variations, but in the final analysis they matter little, What does matter is that at this precise juncture the gunman had killed twelve victims and wounded a further ten in 15 seconds flat, using only 17 rounds fired from the right hip. Such a staggering performance is on a par with the best combat shooters in the world, and two retired counter-terrorist marksmen ruefully admitted they would be hard pressed to equal such awesome speed and accuracy. Both agreed that attributing such a performance to an intellectually-impaired invalid with an IQ of 66 and severely limited cognitive functions, amounts to nothing less than certifiable insanity on the part of Bryant's accusers. In military terms a fatal shot to the upper neck counts as a head shot, so for all practical purposes those who died during the first 15 seconds were killed by head shots fired with lethal accuracy from the gunman's hip.

Next the very professional gunman moved towards the area of the souvenir shop and killed Nicole Burgess with a shot to the head, then shot Mrs Elizabeth Howard through the chest and arm with fatal consequences. Swiveling around, the gunman killed Mr Lever with a shot to the head, and killed Mrs Neander with another shot to the head, Temporarily distracted, he fired back into the cafe area and wounded Mr Crosswell. Turning again he shot Mr Winter twice, killing him with a shot to the head. On his way back to the souvenir area the gunman wounded Mr Olson, then proceeded to the kill-zone near the locked door where he killed Mr Jary, Pauline masters, and Mr Nash, all of them with single shots to the head.

At this stage the gunman had killed twenty and wounded another twelve with a total of 29 rounds. He then stopped firing and changed magazines in a most professional way. The magazine fitted to the AR15 held 30 rounds total, so by changing magazines after firing only 29 shots the gunman ensured that he still had a live round in the breech in case anyone moved, enabling him to kill that person instantly if caught unawares. Such professionalism is well kown to counter-terrorist personnel.

It's a really interesting investigation, worth reading just to see how well it was planned, how evidence was faked, how the Police were sent away from the scene while it was happening, how the media had already made Byrant guilty before he was arrested, how other similiar style shootings by crazy lone gunmen has NEVER come close to the kill/miss ratio than on that day.
It's all classic cover-up material.

The reason why it needs to be brought up again is because only now is the conspiracy making more sense in the broader scheme of things.

Now they are using Terrorism to scare rights away. It's much easier in Australia than the US because we don't have as many people to herd but all the tripod nations are ticking off the boxes on their goals, using each other as examples. America may still have it's guns but that's always going to be harder to remove than it was in Australia because we have never been a big gun country anyway. You got the Patriot Act and IR reforms before us, we're just starting to get those now with opposition pointing out that it's not working for America so why bring it in here? Howard just 'rejects those claims' and that's the end of it.

Bryant enter Broad Arrow cafe and eats lunch on the porch. After he finishes he goes back in with an AR-15 and kills 22 and wounds12 more in five minutes.

who says 15 seconds flat? dat is impossible. its more like wat dis source says which is 5 minutes. no way u can move and shoot from the hip and go from one side of the room, curve to the serving area where cartridge 14 is at and move to the foyer where cartridge 16 is at and then to the area where the cartridge 29 is at. in 15 secs flat? dat is impossible.

how much IQ is required to aim and pull the trigger of the assault rifle? dint it just show how he hijacked a vehicle and knew wat he was doing?

Howard chose the 1 of November because he thought he could sneak it in on Cup day without any notice.
www.thecouriermail.news.com.au...
About 90 minutes after the race that stops the nation on Tuesday, the Government's anti-terror bill, which allows suspects to be detained for up to a fortnight without charge, will be introduced to Parliament.

The Government will force an immediate debate on the legislation, giving the opposition only 10 minutes to examine the bill rather than the usual fortnight.

Sounds similar to the admittance of most parliment members that they didn't really get a chance to review legislation for the sale of Telstra

And with the weak-willed opposition with Beazly as their useless leader who's to stop them. It looks like a tester to see how fast they can push legislation through, since by the end of the year they have plans to completely change the entire labor system.
For all the aussies who have had the displeasure of watching Questiontime, its obvious the howard goverment's head is getting so big its about to explode. Yesterday Howard basically laughed at the notion of rallies being held both against the new labor law proposals and terror laws because "he's the best thing that ever happened to the australian people" quoted as closesly as i can remember.

The interesting thing about Martin Bryant is that witnesses all say he was shooting from his right hip, but he is left handed.

Anyway back on topic. It doesn't seem to hvae been mentioned here, however Kim Beazley the oppostioon leader was also briefed on the specifics about the threat and threw his support behind the PM.
This right in the middle of the Labour Party's fierce oppostion to the new Industrial Relations Laws.
The Labour Party is no friend of the Government. It hardly seems like they are in some type of collusion over this terrorist threat.

Well, your source provides nothing for reference so i'm not sure where they get their times from but interestingly it has this:

"Andrew MacGregor
A retired policeman, author, and speaker, who spent years investigating the massacre, feels it was a calculated preplanned operation.
The final shootout occurs at the Seascape cottage, and he says there were two shooters, the second possibly being a Bryant's controller
"
Hmm, 'Controller' - that's an MK-ULTRA code for someone who 'programs' assassins for example.

Anyway, the reason they know the time was from audio recordings of the gun shots which give exact times of how many shots were fired and knowing how many shots were fired and the damage done, they can work out the time frame. The 15 second mark isn't ALL the deaths, it was he killed twelve victims and wounded a further ten in 15 seconds flat, using only 17 rounds fired from the right hip, he then moved and killed more.

He spent 5 minutes in the cafe AFTERWARDS before leaving so people outside wouldn't film him or get in his way, when he left he spot fired to make sure anyone outside was hiding rather than stopping him.

What's interesting thou are things like this:

You ask:
"how much IQ is required to aim and pull the trigger of the assault rifle? dint it just show how he hijacked a vehicle and knew wat he was doing?"

To which we have this:

Of the twenty murdered on the Broad Arrow Cafe, nineteen died from the effects of a fatal shot to the head by the Colt AR15, which the shooter fired from his right-hip at an average range of 12 feet without the benefit of a laser sight. Overall, only 29 rounds were used to kill or injure a total of 32 people. Such accuracy and speed is appropriate to the top 1% of expert counter-terrorist marksmen, but is an absolute scientific impossibility for an intellectually-impaired registered invalid. Alas, Martin Bryant always fired his Webley Osprey air rifle from the left shoulder, because he is and has always been a left handed shooter.

Plus details like leaving a round in the gun when changing clips.

But to find out how much IQ is required to pull a trigger, i'm sure you don't need much at all but to be able to aim, fire, turn, aim, fire, turn aim, fire and get all head shots shooting off your wrong side without scope is pretty damn amazing.

Compare it to this:

...two years later 15 year-old Kip Kinkel was to stage a mass shooting in an identical environment, firing a semi-automatic weapon of the same calibre (5.56-mm). Kinkel's performance in the Thurston High School Cafe was exactly what any expert would expect from a random shooting event, and proves that Bryant could not have caused the terrible carnage in the Broad Arrow Cafe. Again sadly, Kip Kinkel provided the perfect "live" cafe simulation needed to prove Martin Bryant's innocence at Port Arthur.

...

Kip Kinkel was carrying a 5.56-mm Ruger semi-automatic rifle with several full clips of ammunition, plus two loaded handguns and a large hunting knife. In addition police found a sizable quantity of loose 5.56-mm rounds in his haversack.

...

Despite firing fifty one rounds, nearly twice as many as those fired in the Broad Arrow Cafe, Kinkel killed only two and wounded another twenty one. Of the two dead, only one was hit in the head. Nor did he have the expertise to keep his fellow students at bay. While fumbling a clip-change on the 5.56-mm Ruger he was overpowered and brought to the ground. Killer Kinkel had done his murderous best, but it was a best that fell far short of the very professional massacre in the Broad Arrow cafe two years before. In the Broad Arrow Cafe twenty were killed and twelve wounded, while in the Thurston School Cafe two were killed and twenty-one: wounded. So in the Broad Arrow Cafe the shooter scored an incredible inverted killed-to-injured ratio (KTIR) of 1.66 to 1, on a par with the best special forces counter-terrorist marksmen in the world.

In the Thurston School Cafe, Kinkel scored a KTIR? of 1 to 10, entirely in accord with random shootings worldwide.

We should take this to a new thread, i wouldn't mind hearing more views on this one since if it was an inside job, it relates to the situation we're in now with more 'threat' scenarios promoted by the governments to install an agenda.

in all honesty rouge, im listening to the news now and hearing about a new one, its become all too common and unvalidated. and as far as labour, i agree they are sometimes not friends of the government, i say sometimes because bracks here is a perfect example of a labor/liberal or whatever he might be. They seem to lack the organisation or the brain capacity to really challenge the government on its proposals, and just recently have gotten so enthralled in their own party dispute im surprised they can even keep up most of the time. ASIO has already proved itself, ie, smashing up journalist computer hardrives , raiding the wrong the houseswhich is a show of how effective they are, detaining peace activists where there has been no accountablility on their part. If the Labour government is for the people it should be more interested in protecting the people's rights since they are begging for their votes. And if ASIO needs more power they should focus their attention on where they have been targeted time and time again.

now there is a difference. each person different. u can put people with the same IQ and would achieved different results for dis matter. even with mental disabilities both are different and achieve different results.

also however to achieve dat kind of results would require a two man or four man team for dat size of the building in just a matter of seconds.
