I'm at work (and so haven't been watching the TV)... So, forgive my ignorance, but are you saying that Bush just made an anouncement, but that it was pre-taped.... that is, are you implying that a 'setup' on the scale of a WITD conspiracy has occured here?

New Jersey is in a state of emergency, the governor delcared it a short while ago.

Of course the president alluded to improving the system in general.

The central question that seems to be neglected publically is the following: How do they know that it was NOT terrorists, when they still aren't clear what caused the blackout? How can you rule a potential cause out when you don't know the actual cause?

I'm glad some one else is asking the questions I have been asking.

We are the ones who don't know the cause,the guys telling us about the whole thing may be fully aware of the reasons for the thing,but that doesn't mean they are telling the truth,seeing as they all own the media mouthpiece I tend to look in the opposite direction that they are trying to steer me.
But then,that's just me.

First I've heard of rumours in Washington.. haven't seen that on the news!

The public is not in a "need to know" catagory...what is happening is happening for a reason...and if one listens closely...seems that even the "experts" aren't really sure of WHY...and they said it could take months before they "know"...

As for Bushes comments...ABC news about 15 minutes before the speech he made on MSNBC and other stations said that they would be airing Bushes comments soon...to me, that suggests that he Taped it...and the eight thirty delivery time was moved ahead to nine...He is at a fundraising dinner in San Diego tonite to further his political caerear.

C'mon... this Colonel-esque political digging doesn't help. What do you want him to do, go to the Niagara station and push the turbines himself? He's a president, not superman. A president runs the country BY SITTING BACK, getting info, and making calculated judgements. 'In front of the camera' leadership is not the only type of command. Jeez, YES, we need to be critical and find out if this IS a conspiracy, but mindless, knee-jerk comments just blur the real issues. One-liners and snide comments do not make for 'fighting ignorance'.
