A Ohio police officer has been accused of two counts of animal cruelty when a witness saw Derik Willhelm throw kittens from his window on two separate occasions while driving roughly 70 mph.

abcnews.go.com
A part-time police officer has been accused of throwing two kittens out of a car while driving at 70 mph.

Derik Wilhelm, 26, is charged with two counts of animal cruelty and two counts of abandoning animals. The charges are misdemeanors that carry up to 90 days in jail.

A man called the Erie County Sheriff's Office around noon Tuesday to report seeing a driver in front of him throw two kittens out a window. The caller estimated the vehicle was doing 70 mph on state Route 2.

The caller reached dispatchers again about 30 minutes later to report seeing the man toss another kitten, this time on a street in Lorain. Police there stopped Wilhelm's car, according to the sheriff's office.

When the authorities arrived at the first scene they couldn't find any evidence of the crime, however when they arrived at the second location a kitten was found on the side of the road and treated for injuries. Derik Willhelm, the police officer accused of the crimes denies these allegations.

the fact that this guy is a cop has no real bearing on the story. now if he was a humain center worker ......the fact that he is a cop only means that he realy should know better. unfortunately he may tend to be taken at his word in court based on his profession as opposed to a normal citizen.

Well, this kind of thing is about what I would expect from the Clockwork Orange "Droogie" model of police officer that the US seems to be turning out these days. I trust Police Officers even less than I trust most average citizens. Nothing these power-tripping droogies do surprises me.

Sadistic cretins...

Excuse me, what do you mean it means nothing that he is an officer of the law?

Thats right some think cops are all good and are exempt from the law.

Of course if he were a federal judge he would be considered a Nazi and be expected to do something like that.

Maybe the way they do it in Swiss villages up in the Alps is even worse. At least a kitten thrown out the window of a speeding car has a second chance.

A Swiss schoolmate of ours once told us that unwanted kittens there are drowned in pails filled with water. They're thrown in and then some bricks are piled on top of them to keep them immersed until they drown.

This suggests that avalanches, which the Swiss call "the White Death", are a karmic retribution for the national karmic debt that they incur by carrying out such cruel deeds. Every year many die a slow death by suffocation under the snow. It's as though life were asking, "And how would YOU feel if they did something like that to you?"
