That's true, but he's 21st place on the list of longest serving head of State/PM/President.
Don't hear anyone complaining about the other 20 countries who are ahead of him. The longest being 57 years (Brunei) and the nearest to him (same year 1999) being Jordan, Bahrain, Djibouti and Morocco.

Explain why the Ukraine can't have elections.

During hostitlites elections are usually suspended.

Between 1935-45 Britain did not hold a General Election.

You’re comparing this Ukraine war to WW2? 👌

And in Britain there are no democratic general elections. You do not choose the head of state, the prime minister, the head of government, or the lords - deputies of the upper house of parliament.

Again, yes, because it was a WW, aka war declared. 'Hostilities' is not a declaration of all out war.
Neither Russia nor Ukraine have declared war against each other. So, why wont Zelensky allow his people to hold a general election?

So you don’t like the Jewish candidate for president of Russia?

You have a real fixation when it comes to Jewish people.
Always making note of it when it's really irrelevant.
You might want to take a long hard look at that.

Your position is strange. When there is a conversation about Israel and the genocide in Gaza, you say exactly the opposite words.

But you didn't answer my simple question. At the same time, you want me to answer your questions. This is inconsistent, to say the least.

Putin has actually stated it's war.

Mr Putin said: “Our goal is not to spin the flywheel of military conflict, but, on the contrary, to end this war.”

The British are accustomed to clear legal language rather than words spoken in propaganda media translations taken out of context.
Or I'm wrong?

Once again for those who are especially dull. In any civilized country there is electoral legislation. Absolutely everyone is obliged to comply with it. If one of the candidates does not want to comply with it, then he will not be allowed to participate in the elections.
It’s a different question when the situation is used and planned in advance as a provocation.
If you live in an uncivilized country, then this is your problem. We live in a civilized world.

Stop fooling around. The suppression, persecution or assassination of opposition leaders is the matter of public record. Nadezhdin is just a recent example. Litvinenko, Khodorkovsky, Nemtsov, Kara-Murza, Navalny, Akunin. Add to this Putin taking over all the independent media, exploiting the legal system to have his opponents jailed, removing the electors and heads of regional legislations from the upper house of parliament, censorship etc and you have your free "elections".

Libs are gonna freak out. The American media has been painting Putin in a certain light since he said he liked Trump more than Hillary. Doesn't bother me one way or the other.

Having political opponents murdered. You actually think Russia is civilised ? Just one example as to why it's not.

We get the same things here with the democrats, especially the Clinton's.

That's because we vote for party, not a "leader".

Russia is very lucky to have a leader.

Russia is very unlucky to have a leader like Putin - who does not permit free speech, oppresses all opposition and at the same time seems to absolutely hate Russia and the Russian people, and has deliberately tried to turn then into international pariahs.

(To be fair, he does like some Russians - but only those who worship him as a god)

Fitting seeing as Putin is the Clinton of Russia.

He’s become insanely rich from being a “public servant”, and feels entitled to power.

That's dated way back in December 2022 and to date neither side has formally declared it a war.
This....

While many observers believe his use of the word was unintentional, it cannot be ruled out that he could be preparing the Russian people for a formal declaration of war

and this....

But if Mr Putin formally declared war, it would need a process that would have to be signed off in the Duma.

bolded part mine, from your link.
Here is a good article explaining the 'nuances' of formally declaring war and what is and is not recognised by the ICJ etc.
Slightly pre-dates yours being March 2022.

Just to play devil's advocate.... Russia is surrounded by NATO countries who is itching to escalate to a full on war with Russia.
Explain why the Ukraine can't have elections please given we are told they are winning and Russia is losing?

Good point, Jane.

Why IS Zelenskyy afraid of elections in Ukraine?

ANSWER:
Just like a lawyer should never ask a question they don't already know the answer to...so, too, a dictator should never hold an election that they don't already know they'll win.

Putin and Zelenskyy BOTH understand this.

Each presidential candidate has made their income statements public. If you have legal notarial documents (statements from bank accounts, depositories, cadastres of movable and immovable property, etc.), then please provide us. Otherwise, your words about Putin’s “wealth” are blah blah blah.
