I'm not shocked over the two-tiered justice system.
I'm not shocked over the overt bias in prosecuting a political opponent.
I'm not shocked over the overt election interference by the left.

The only thing I'm shocked about is that the fine is too low. I figured they'd make it 350 billion and try to bankrupt him also.

Nah.

They need him productive in order to extract future fines.

Try and keep up, will ya?

BTW and OT- How are you DB? I'm Riffrafter reincarnated. Lost my PW and all that. I've heard DTOM can get it for me but I kinda like being Schrödinger's Rat. Am I dead or alive? Enquiring minds want to know, etc.

Nice to see the old crew getting back on. DTOM just restored mine a few days back and I am glad. I started a "AnotherJustoneman" recently and someone told me the way to recover was contacting Mods.

It was a coarse analogy certainly, but the idea is there. He hit that Republican Debate show and made sweeping promises. He had a targeted audience, or consumer group to play to and he did it. He's a salesman. His pitch was to drain the swamp and he pitched it to people who already had a deep hatred for the swamp. People who already knew how swampy it is. He made promises that they should have known he could not keep. Truth is I cheered for him for a few short weeks until I realized it was all show, all glitz,, all bull. He is, before all and after all, a salesman and any of us who have not figured out the universal truth about salesmen by now are going to remain victims of the very swamp he promised to drain.

He's had some good moments.

Like the time he threatened to pull out of the UN because of all their nonsense.

The same with threatening to leave NATO because the US foots most of the bills. Other member nations contributions are paltry in comparison.

And the time he imposed sanctions on Iran in response to the Iranian nuclear program and Iranian support for Hezbollah, Hamas, and Palestine Islamic Jihad.

Like him or not, the man has a pair of stone cojones and doesn't give a rat's patoot what the rest of the world thinks when he's protecting American interests. The left can whine all they want about the above but he was *right* in those cases.

You've demonstrated that nothing is too far beyond the pale to sate your ire.

That sounds either Shakespearian or pornographic depending on where your mind is at the moment you read it.

It's still morning here so I'm going to go with Shakespeare. He didn't write any pornography did he?

BAMN seems to have overtaken the COTUS in terms of a driving force.

Pardon my acronym ignorance, but what is BAMN?

By Any Means Necessary

It's the mantra never Trumper's have been spouting since they were told to hate Orang Man Bad. (OMB)

It means they will attack Trump BAMN. And it's playing out just like that.

Ahh...

Danke mein Freund.

Well this is a bit rude:

Hamlet
[To Ophelia] Lady, shall I lie in your lap?
Ophelia
No, my lord!
Hamlet
I mean, my head upon your lap.
Ophelia
Ay, my lord.
Hamlet
Do you think I meant country matters?

Yes, those were threats as you point out. But did he pull us out of NATO or the UN for that matter. It was good that he brought them up but in the end, that's all they were. And yes, he put sanctions on Iran but sanctions are a dime a dozen at this point I think,Biden uses them all the time.

Personally I don't mind the ''tough guy'' act at all, it's the ''craazy guy'' bit that concerns me.

At the time he placed the sanctions on Iran there were a lot of people in Congress and the media asking/warning him not to as they thought Iran could be brought "back into the fold".

To his credit, not only did he not believe that, his sanctions were severe and he also told other nations that he'd place sanctions on them if they continued doing any kind of business with Iran. That worked very well.

Threats? Sure. But sometimes you need to show the stick and put the carrot back in the bag for a while. Especially with bad actors like this.

he has no filter, and says the dumb sh!t we all think, but don't say. It does make me wince, but I'd rather know what he's thinking than have to guess. And he's good at telling everyone exactly what he's thinking. I suppose it all comes down to what you can accept and what you can't. I personally can get over the ignorant talking in favor of the results that keep us out of wars and make the US prosperous.

He's attacked for "being nice" to dictators like Little Kim, but when he showed him just a little attention, Kim was happy and wasn't talking about nuking the world. Throwing a compliment to Putin to keep him from invading neighboring nations seems like an easy tradeoff, but those who hate, will find a reason to, just like it is with Joetato.

I don't know why the low info crowd is falling for the idea that 4 more years of Trump would "end democracy", when his previous 4 year term was going pretty well until that once in a hundred year pandemic came about, and just in time.

Now to this TN boy who spent some time there around that area when I was fresh out of college, I sense you are a old fashioned NY type that appreciates a man who is tough all the time and does what he says. My southern manners were slammed in NYC and in NJ. If I didn't respond like a man with a more rude sense of humor, they would have had no respect for me at all. I learned you can't let em get away with the verbal stuff by thinking they will stop if you ignore them for sure. I went to the Basketball courts too. That was a strange trip.... I see New York skills in Trump, bottom line.

For sure, no filter.

Being nice to dictators CAN be understood as you describe it, bee nice to them, give them attention and they will be nice back. Sure, maybe. But it can also be understood from another perspective, that these guys, who have been in control of political nations for years and years all of a sudden come into contact with Trump and find him, the new leader of the most powerful nation and military in the world AND FIND HIM TO BE A MORON. Of course they will be nice to him, not because of what he might do to them but because of how they can USE HIM. Which way we take that depends upon how we see him in his essence. What you see as just a lack of filter, I see as indicative of a much deeper pathological incompetence.

And yes, while he was in office, the economy hummed. The question though was why. Was it just because of him and his economic policies? Me, I think not. Our economy grows and crashes, hums and crashes, expands and crashes In the mid 2000s it hummed until it faltered and crashed. That's why Obama got elected because he made better economic promises then the Republican who had been in office for the previous eight years. And what did he do? He turned the economic recovery back over to the banks, big business and Wall Street. Eight years of recovery and the roast was ready to come out of the oven. Trump got to open that oven, and what did he do? He borrowed big time from the banks and increased the antional dept.

And like all other recoveries, once it got to humming, natural adjustments needed adjusting and they have, regardless of either Trump or Biden.

And yes, the ''pandemic'' was a once in a hundred year event, though maybe, much less than that of course. Just because the last one to play out in the US was that long ago does not mean that the next one might come more quickly. But over all it was an outlier and by this point we should all expect outliers to become not so outlierish.

I'm not one to think that Republican policies would bring about the end of Democracy. But to put either Republican or Democrat policies in the hands of a moron can. A moron or a doddering old mumbler like Biden.

Since you didn't put up any good new moron's to choose from, I'll stick with the moron I know, the guy your side put appears to be owned by others. I'll take a guy who isn't owned. And if he gets back in and the economy once again takes off, will that be enough to convince you he didn't just luck up on his cash? Or will it just be the culmination of Biden's policies finally coming to fruition? (I have to laugh at that, because I can see that being the left talking point if it does happen)

Yeah. Nothing to see here in NY..

Link

In his final remarks, LaPierre’s attorney, P. Kent Correll, said James set out years ago to “decapitate” the NRA and sued LaPierre as part of that goal.

None of the defendants has been criminally charged as part of James’ lawsuit. James had initially set out to dissolve the NRA as part of her suit. However, Cohen dismissed that effort in 2022, saying her complaint “does not allege the type of public harm that is the legal linchpin for imposing the ‘corporate death penalty.’

and her cookie cutter statement....

In a statement, James called the verdict a "major victory for the people of New York and our efforts to stop the corruption and greed at the NRA."

"LaPierre and senior leaders at the NRA blatantly abused their positions and broke the law," she said. "But today, after years of rampant corruption and self-dealing, Wayne LaPierre and the NRA are finally being held accountable."

Trump and the NRA...yeah. They are the most fraudulent people in NY without criminal convictions.

Of course I didn't put up any good new moron, I don't have a voice that anyone wants to listen to. Oh, I see, you mean the Democrats put up. I see, you continue to think of me as a Democrat. Right, i see. Biden. Yes he is totally owned, owned by his belief in the globalist system that so many fear is coming. I tell you it isn't coming, it's here and has been here since at least since the end of ww2. That globalist system. I find it ap-ro-pos that the best that system can put up to keep Trump down is a doddering old man who can barely put two words together. Yeah, fitting. It's fitting because he was born at the beginning of a war that shuffled the world in such a way as to give birth to this new world order and he will be basically the last face of it as we have known it.

But yeah, maybe Trump would be a better face in this stage of the system. A self serving narcissist who is only in it for his own personal delusions of grandeur. What a wonderful choice that offers.
