Congratulations to Agleaya and Kwaka for their well-deserved new Writer statuses.

Commiserations to all the other participants, your quality and variegated stories are what makes the contest consistently worth participating in.

Artistic ventures, including creative writing, more often than not are painful experiences. I’ve come to the conclusion that “no pain, no gain”; I believe if the writing process doesn’t hurt, then you’re not delving deep enough to extrapolate the best from deep within you. Conversely, contentment comes from breaking that pain barrier, purging it from your psyche and putting in on show for everyone to see.

To that end, I urge everyone to break the seal, pop the cork, pour out that pain and share it Urbi et Orbi… Let the celebrations begin, the first glass is on me…





As for my story, I humbly thank everyone who enjoyed and voted my entry. I hope it can be dusted off year after year and brings you pleasure for future festive seasons.
