Per the article, 20 years is the maximum he can be sentenced. He hasn't been sentenced yet.
People convicted for participating in the Jan 6th "insurrection" have already been given 20+ year sentences.

Well in this case because, the maximum sentence for his crime is only 20 years, and the information he shared wasn't even classified.

We've seen far worse from much higher ranking US officials, who have most likely done far worse damage to our country's security.
