You have to hope it's in good faith.

But Putin does this type of thing.

I'm thinking it's out of desperation as opposed to good faith.

It's a distraction, considering Russia's mounting losses.

Putin has to look like he's doing something positive when in reality it will simply give Russian federation forces time to regroup and rearm.

I don’t think most of NATO would have the stomach for a direct conflict. America was livid (and rightfully so) with about 10k deaths in the ME. We all know this would take quite a toll.

We haven’t really sent heavy stuff to Ukraine, although I think light armored fighting vehicles will probably get cleared by spring for export by the US and France.

I’d be willing to bet NATO has a far more updated arsenal. Tanks, jets, and the carriers to bring them there. NATO has more aircraft carriers than Russia and their Allies tenfold.

But I hope and doubt it comes down to seeing how that would play out.

None of this is black and white but if I was in Eastern Ukraine right now, I would be pretty angry at Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy will happily see the entire East slaughtered while he traverses the planet doing photo shoots in his plain black T's...

Do you have any evidence for that?

Are they fighting NATO troops, armour, boots on ground, aircraft, etc?

I don't think so.

Fairly sure that NATO has quite a few Tomahawk, Cruise missiles, tanks, armour, artillery, aircraft etc left ( seeing as how they haven't actually used any of that stuff).

Anyone ever wonder if Putin and Z are really good friends and are in a dark room in a cave somewhere drinking beers and laughing their butts off while counting their money?

No? Just me?

Hmmm Now that is an interesting thought.
Now I will sit and ponder the likelihood of that.
And money does talk...soooo

Russia don't even have a working aircraft carrier in service right now.

And she is not slated to return to active service until sometime 2024/5

Admiral Kuznetsov was on fire not that long ago if memory serves.

ukdefencejournal.org.uk...

And even when she was in service she had to be accompanied by a tugboat down to her powerplants failing at numerous different times.

When it comes to carriers, Russia don't even have a dog in the fight, but in the kennels, just about ready to be put down.

This one?

www.theguardian.com...

Without wanting to sound cliche, that's from the Guardian which are the highest order of the "current thing narrative".

I wouldn't trust them to report a house fire accurately.

They lie. A lot.

Yea, I probably would be too.

And if I were ethnic Ukrainian around 2014, I’d probably be pretty angry with Russia for (perceived or real) blocking their entry into the EU which most agree were their ambitions and what the people had voted to do.

It is messy as you say.

I voted to GTFO of the EU so I have no compassion in that respect.

The EU is a bureaucratic parasitic globalist NWO abomination...

Ukrainians owe Russia a beer as far as I'm concerned.

Ukraine doesn't want a ceasefire or anyone going where they choose or having safe passage during a religious holiday:

Russia announced a cease-fire and said it was offering routes for safe passage out of the capital, Kyiv, the southern port city of Mariupol and hard-hit areas of Kharkiv and Sumy in the northeast. But it set out clearly defined paths for anyone seeking to escape, which Ukraine said were unacceptable and described as being meant to manipulate world leaders.

All the while persecuting the UOC and UOC-MP during their Christmas celebrations and worship.

Seems anti-Humanitarian to me.

That's pretty much Russia's side of the story is it not?

Is this the same orthodoxy the Ukranian government just banned?

I'm gonna suspect that Ukraine honors this cease fire just as much as they honor the Geneva and Hayde Conventions.

Which is not in the slightest...

Exactly.

You can't without a VPN.

The fact that our governments won't let you see the big picture should tell you everything you need to know about what's factual and what's BS.

If what our governments are doing in the Ukraine is beneficial for Ukrainians then why aren't we allowed to see how evil the Russians are from their own News sources?

If that doesn't stink to you then I don't know what will.

It's unprecedented.

Ukrainian Orthodox Church celebrates the same holiday at the same time.

So, yes, it's just for Orthodox Christmas, period.

It applies to both Ukraine and Russian Orthodox Churches. As well as MANY more world-wide.

From your first source:

"The U.S. has been by far the largest supplier of military aid to Ukraine in its war with Russia, providing $15.2 billion in weapons packages to date since Moscow invaded its neighbor in late February. Several of the American-made weapons have been game changers for the Ukrainians; particularly the 155 mm howitzers and long-range heavy artillery like the Lockheed Martin
-made HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System). And the Biden administration has said it will support its ally Ukraine for “as long as it takes” to defeat Russia.

That means a whole lot more weapons.

The U.S. has essentially run out of the 155 mm howitzers to give to Ukraine; to send any more, it would have to dip into its own stocks reserved for U.S. military units that use them for training and readiness. But that’s a no-go for the Pentagon, military analysts say, meaning the supplies reserved for U.S. operations are highly unlikely to be affected."

Thing is, the US and NATO can ramp up arms production unaffected by the sanctions that are curtailing Russia's arms production.
