The 1 thing I didnt want was this to be an either-or, life over death, or indiscrimate death over life thread...because its not about that. A greater picture exists.

Its the inalienable right of a woman to herself, future and the welfare and development... or not...of anything in her body. Thats it. How could any man understand? We cant.

Is it life, is it not? I dunno. Ive been life and death-ing it with stuff folks cant imagine. Aside from my EMT exp...I retired from 20 years U of Mich Med Center, and another 15 City, FEMA, D.H. Sec.

We have a lot of babies in ER alive in arms 1 second...then suddenly deceased. Not breathing-turning blue. Gasps, begins to breathe.

Life is fragile, special, but no guarantee.

Yes it is. I find it interesting in the LEO world Ive worked in...we dont, never did make any distinction between "if" and "maybe".

If your expecting, I will treat you as though you are two. Right now. Right here. And still...theres no guarantee that life will happen. And if something happens to that potential life? If we got you...we still treat you as 2.

I hope thats some kinda metaphor here...

Im jumpin back in to herald what you said here:

"but... this is why I feel it isn't right for others to judge a woman's circumstances."

Amen brother, pass the plate!

I got your answer. You asked "When does life start?"

After life n death all these years..."life' lives. If it does not, it can-not.

Well...thanks. You took it a bit further "Yet I wonder at what point taking a live becomes OK?"

Well, it never does unless youre saving the life of another. Other than that...Ive no presumption that I could know, have or make decisions for a woman. Any woman. "Bout anything. If you missed it? Ive been married 3 times.

Babies? Fetus? A life is a life is a life. But only maybe, no guarantee. My tomatoes are comin in nicely, but theres zero guarantee theyll make i cause of squirrels.

I think you misunderstood what I said. I said that birth control was not a "wasted life" because that life never had life. It was a non-event. I am not including abortion as a form of birth control.

Actually I agree with your statement about a "middle ground".

Did you know for 1,000 of years woman had used mud mixed with dung and straw...as their form of "birth control"?

One of many example of life-prevention. (Some, are horrid).

I think if you chose to not protect yourself against her getting that way, you gave up that right. Hers now.

Bottom line here seems to be just the thing that you can have it, just maybe not in your state. Its just a state issue now.

Dont think women will change their minds either way. And I wouldnt want them to.

Hey. You know why its wrong to try and kill yourself? Because if you fail? Its a crime and you could face charges.

Seriously

You said: "Gender doesn’t provide you with rights and privileges". Can you go into the ladies room?

Ive some kinda answer for you in general. Out of all ER 911 calls received...maybe 5-7% involve pregnancies. Perhaps, less than 2% of that may involve "complications".

Even here in Detroit, our last demo was I believe 800,000+ residents in-city. Of that, I should think 911 calls regarding abortions are very low. And yes, many dont call at all.

Statistically, the "botched" incidents are really almost nil. ETA:_According to incoming 911 calls

Touche"! "Something has to be alive to be able to kill it, something might exist but isnt neccessarily alive yet, let alone be able to notice anything or have some form of consciousness."

Lets knock down the common denominator.

We can make life. We can take life. We can avoid life. We can extend life. We can ignore it, or embrace it.

What we cant do...is dicern clearly and positively when that spark is viable. Even after a live birth.

I do agree with you but still. Apples and Oranges. We have that Constitution. Other countries in the world do not. Some have none.

But I pose to you all. So...without it? Doesnt it still mean a woman has the right no matter where, how, when?

Constitution is getting a bad rap here. The greater view...from space down....should be a world of humans, not Constitutions, governments, religions. We've got a long way to go yet.

You're a man so you shouldn't have an opinion on abortion? Do you have an opinion on the law? How about on politics? UFOs? I hope not, unless you're a lawyer, cop, politician, and/or Ufologist.

"You're a man so you shouldn't have an opinion on abortion?" I absolutely do.

As a Christian-depends.
As an Emergency Medical Tech-depends.
As a rock musician-depends.

As a man-doesnt depend on anything else other than I am not the woman.
