Perhaps because the soo call covid pandemic is no longer? soo what to protest for, most of the oppression has been lifted in states that were doing the most demands from the people.

The rest of the nation has gone back to normal;

So, I guess it wasn't really "tyranny" at all, but abject selfishness against public health measures taken to try to keep folks safe. Of course, those who threw childish tantrums about wearing a simple masks didn't do anyway, so again, see the previous sentence.

The trucker convoy was never intended to go into DC. My understanding was it was scheduled to arrive in the "DC Area"

There have been several studies and meta analysis showing the effectiveness of masks. I guess that doesn't matter for those in denial of their ignorance

Doesn't seem like a flop to me.

It is still coming through my area. Several miles of trucks, pickups, cars. Dozens of people waiting near the high way with flags.

Suppose the world spun and all the lunatic antivaxxers are now pondering Putin's actions in Ukraine.

After all a real threat trumps the doom porn 9 times out of 10.

They had us wearing cloth masks.
The CDC has admitted that they are ineffective.

Give me control over the media and I will have the public scared of the common cold and getting vaccines and boosters to keep everyone from dying from it.

I entertained the idea that masks don't do anything, and then I actually researched it. If you're happy swallowing what the MSM and CDC feeds you, I hope you enjoyed your mouthful. If you want to learn something, research for yourself.

N95 masks do

But they pawned off the cloth surgical masks on us to conserve N95 (if they both work, why does it matter?)

I don't like being given substandard protective equipment and then being told I have to wear it and enforcing it at the barrel of a gun.

N95 masks do work against COVID. Surgical masks can't. It is like trying to catch a tiny gold nugget with a fishing net.

They invented a bunch of justifications to explain why they were lying about N95's not working and then they turned around and insisted surgical masks do? A reckoning for all these lies needs to happen before they'll ever be trusted again.

Thanks, I already did that.

Maybe they saw what the leader of a supposedly free country (Canada) did to the truckers there.
They were beaten and had their bank accounts frozen.

Fair enough.

I didn't think US truckers were the type to be intimidated, though, if they believed strongly.

Canadian truck drivers were as tough a they come, willing to camp out for weeks in the freezing cold. But now they aren't truck drivers anymore, they are poor imprisoned pseudo citizens who had their property and money stolen from them by tyrants. All because they wanted to NOT have Jan 6th type issues, and kept things peaceful. Now we know that doesn't work.

This analogy is wrong and shows a fundamental lack of understanding of how respiratory droplets travel through the air.

And you concluded that "the CDC said they are ineffective" ???? They didn't even say that, firstly, and second of all - did you even search the literature?

Different masks have a wide range of effectiveness - none of them are completely ineffective.

Yeah, it feels like too much of a coincidence that just as these covid tyrants were finally beginning to feel the heat from the population in several parts of the world, along comes this massive distraction to make people focus on something else.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Putin is simply following orders from his WEF masters, and that a lot of the politicians and world leaders feigning outrage about what's going on in Ukraine may have been the ones behind the curtain actually triggering the invasion. To them it's all the same if a few thousands civilians end up dead as collateral damage inside Ukrainian borders.

On a side note, it somewhat cheered my day seeing someone use a Tony Romo picture as his avatar. Tennis may be my main sport, but Tony is still my favorite professional athlete ever. You're all right mate

I never said that none of them are completely effective.
I have checked the literature from mask manufacturers in regard to what size particles they are capable of filtering out.
I have researched the size of the particles of vapor that a human exhales. I learned that hundreds of individual covid viruses can fit on one of those particles of vapor that you exhale. Those particles easily pass through a cloth mask and some of them pass through an N95... you are aware of what the 95 stands for, right?

Better yet, I understand the concept of fit testing. When I looked at the people wearing masks during the pandemic, I took note that most of them had huge gaps between the mask and their faces. If the air isn't going through the mask...the mask is ineffective.

You’re spewing brainwashed nonsense.

Former President Biden COVID-19 adviser and top epidemiologist Michael Osterholm admitted that typical paper masks are ineffective and suggested that Americans may need to switch to heavier duty N-95 masks to battle the new wave of cases in an interview on CNN Monday.

"We know today that many of the face cloth coverings that people wear are not very effective in reducing any of the virus movement in or out," Osterholm, the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, said.

Big difference between hep-C and SARS-2.
For one thing, the vax for the original Covid wanes FAST and is pretty much useless now that we are x-number of ever changing variants later.

And I'm sure you have read the valid science that too many boosters is not a healthy thing to be doing.

I'll be glad to discuss this with you on the threads related to this issue. Just PM me a link and I'll show up.

But right here I'd rather explore ideas on why the one rally that did everything exactly right and seemed to have DC spooked like the dickens (the pre-SOTU speech rally) had almost no turnout.

Anyway... do PM me about a better thread for that other discussion.

I think you are misinformed. They just reached Maryland, and will be leaving for DC in the morning. Some reports say up to 10,000 trucks, 70 miles long.

Those aren't the same ones as in the news story. Those are different ones.

It's terribly confusing - there's at least two of them and possibly more. The one that had the folks around Washington nervous was the one in the first news story where the protest was scheduled for the State of the Union address.

They all have different goals... they're "sort of" similar ("freedom" and anti-masking but some are advocating other measures) and different leaders. Anyway, one is due to arrive somewhere tomorrow (Saturday)... but the one that made Washington nervous and was mentioned in some news reports about having extra unarmed National Guard troops on hand was the convoy (different from the one in Maryland now) that was due to protest earlier this week.

What a flop!

All convoy groups have arrived, or arriving right now.

10,000 Trucks!

70 Miles Long!

Still ZERO significant issues reported!

More 'Flops' please!

Different group.

If you go back to the original article, you will see that I was asking about a different convoy... one that had permits to demonstrate near the Capitol. I think this is the Patriot Convoy though it could be another one.

It's easy to get confused and think that with all the news going on that there's just one convoy. Trouble is, there's more than three and some of them merged with others.
