Some additional analysis of President Biden's actions, now that a few days have passed since Afghanistan was handed over to the Taliban terrorist organization.

DOUGLAS MURRAY: The White House press secretary told Fox News's White House correspondent yesterday that this was nothing but a success, this pullout. This is one of the greatest pullouts in history, one of the fastest pullouts.

It is so contemptible to look at it in this light. Yeah, and Britain and other allies of America certainly don't regard this as a success. They see it as America rushing out of Afghanistan in this incredibly ignominious fashion, handing the country over to the Taliban.

Anyone who sees this as some kind of diplomatic triumph is absolutely in la-la land.

Biden said that America was back when he came in as president.

He has ignored America's allies. He's handing over Kabul airport to the Taliban like the rest of Afghanistan, and his allies are left trying to mop up the pieces afterward.

This is not America extending its influence in the world. This is America running fast from an engagement that has been 20 years and behaving as if it's got an essay crisis at the last moment.

It is so sad for America's allies to see this, and the reverberations from this are going to go on for a very, very long time to come.

Update - Sept 8, 2021

It's looking like Obama-Biden set the stage for the Taliban quick takeover/seizure of Afghanistan, because they're "familiar" with 4 of the top officials in the new Taliban-led government.

Four of the five Taliban members released from Guantanamo Bay by the Obama administration in 2014, in exchange for admitted US Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl, are part of the Islamic fundamentalist group’s new hardline government in Afghanistan.

The four members of the so-called “Taliban Five” who have joined the new government are;

Acting Director of Intelligence Abdul Haq Wasiq,

Acting Minister of Borders and Tribal Affairs Norullah Noori,

Deputy Defense Minister Mohammad Fazl, and,

Acting Minister of Information and Culture Khairullah Khairkhah.

The fifth member of the Taliban Five, Mohammad Nabi Omari, was appointed governor of eastern Khost Province last month.

Based on what we know thus far, you get the sense that there's a significant amount of U.S. involvement with the Taliban terrorist group taking control of Afghanistan.

looking back it probably was a mistake to let anger get the best of us and demand revenge, we probably should have just removed our presence from iraq and the middle east and let the locals settle their issues for themselves. we made a tactical and pr mistake that has turned many against us and gave Chinese and Russian propaganda a more steady footing, not to mention the recessions that weakened our economic position and gave china a opening to push the west, japan, south korea and taiwan out of their dominant positions in many areas.

sure we got what we came for but it cost us more than we gained, honestly this 'war' is an example how the president has too much power when it comes to military actions, there's no way Congress of that time would've approved military action beyond the regular air strikes we were already doing before the war, would've been a massive air campaign but not troops or equipment or any of that, would've been done, over with and mostly forgotten within a year by most people.

Maybe.

The only thing accomplished was the planting of the seed. Everyone wants their children to have a better life than they had. With the Taliban taking back over, there will be a generation that had it better than their children and grandchildren will have. Human nature isn’t going to let that rest that way.

The question is, will they fight when they realize what they lost? I’d say the women are getting closer to that point than the men are. Of course they have more to lose.

Truth be told you're going to be under attack from militant Islam one way or another.

By taking it to them and fighting them over there you have made the USA pretty safe. Amazingly safe truth be told over the past twenty years.

Europe has been under constant daily attack during this period from militant Islam. Just today France is starting court cases against the Bataclans attacked, a hundred and something dead in one day.

Many more attacks ending in multiple murders, plus low level violence every day that never make international news.

All this time by taking them on in Asia you've kept your country safe

We really should start inviting people over. Sinking boats full of troops in the open ocean ends wars faster. Not like we can’t watch the oceans with satellites to know where to dispatch intercepts.

Maybe in the Pacifics war but this is the hybrid type

By placing the football field in the Middle East you gt to keep the USA population pretty much safe for twenty years.

Europe on the other hand is under constant terror from Islamic terror as the footie field is in the European continent itself.

I guess this whole thread will in many ways be answered only in say another twenty years and then in comparing that period of events to what's happened in the past twenty years post 9/11.........................

Let's see what happens to the USA mainland over the next twenty years now the football field in the ME has been largely removed and wannabe Jihadi's worldwide look for a new stadium to test their mindset

While not as big, the Atlantic takes time to cross as well. And we are always watching the Atlantic mostly for tropical storms and hurricanes.

The terrorist-friendly Biden Administration finally admits rescue/evac flights out of Afghanistan are being blocked by their new Taliban-terrorist friends, in charge of the country.

Most of the recent murders, tortures, and hostage situations are YOUR DOING Mr. Biden.

RESIGN!

The initial mission? Yes, without a doubt.

The aftermath? No. A total and complete failure. what little was accomplished will soon disappear as Dark Ages mentality will reign in Afghanistan once more.

So...

Was it worth it? No. In plain English, no.

A young man I watched grow up, coached him in soccer, died in those accursed mountains when his helicopter was shot down. Leaving behind grieving parents, widow, and two sons.

Twenty years. Nothing accomplished that won't soon disappear. The people who were foolish enough to believe in our help, now in even more danger because of it, and we left too many of them behind.

Par for the course, to our shame as a nation. Well done, us.

American Exceptionalism can be distilled down to “We didn’t lose our factories to repeated bombings in WW2, so we made a ton of money that was taxed to oblivion by the US Government rebuilding Europe and Japan after the war.”

CHINA may be examining the thousands of military and technology items left behind in Afghanistan by the BIDEN Administration's botched exit from the country.

China military arrived in at a (former) U.S. Airbase last night.

Or maybe China-friendly Joe left everything there intentionally?
