Lloyds TSB tests Islamic mortgage (from ATSNN)

If there ever was evidence to suggest that Islam has done deals with the western Gov then this would be it.

couldn't that be constued as discrimination? only available if you are a muslim, sounds like a way to gain some converts. does the uk have laws against discrimination? if so i think it should be aplied on something like this if they refuse non-muslims a loan. i believe that the jewish laws prohibit intrest (at least for jews) as well. but i have never heard of them setting up something like this.

I think you will find that the banks are still getting their money. The buyers would have to pay rent, its just a re-worded form of interest payment. No-one in this world gets anything for free, at least not from banks.

I didn't know being English was a race! When did this happen? Why wasn't I told? I always thought my being English was a nationality, not a race....

I really don't know what on earth your trying to say here. You say people dont understand the difference between being English and British, and you don't seem to have much of an idea yourself. At least you're not expressing it very well. Are you saying that an immigrant who now holds a British passport, cant be proud to be English? Proud to be living here and adding to the betterment of our society? Why ever not? And if your born here to immigrant parents, are you not allowed to be English too?

I don't care if Islam gave me a house for free I would never convert to it....

It's not the convert issue I feel is important here as is the importance of gaining an unacceptable advantage over the indigenous population that I feel is vastly unjust.

If this happens I can see Lloyds TSB being the target of some furious retribution from the far right and in fact the not so far right...

I used to live in Japan and I can tell you that if I wanted a Japanese bank to give me an advantage over the Japanese people because it's in my faith do you think they would give it to me???

I think people are not aware of what is going on here....

When it was Euro 2000 football one of my friends had the St. Georges Cross Flag outside his door.... do you know what happened???

The Council came around and told him to remove the Flag as it was causing an offence against the other people that were not English in the flats!!!

Where does my friend live??? The Centre of London England!!!

That's right English people are being stripped of all that they are and are being asked to give up our very country that my grandfather fought to keep ours... and it's just being given away like some cast off!!!

I am so Angry about what Lloyds proposes and I am not alone.....

Why do you think the National Front party has so many members and is creeping into the majority in some areas of England???

because even though they are racists they are the only part that stands up against the wave of anti English policies we now see being put into action.

Being English does not make you C of E, and being English is not a race, as is being a Muslim is not, we are all members of the human race.

I think you are mixing race with creed, culture and or faith, and the result is prejudice. This is quite clearly seen in your lack of knowledge regarding the ability of someone to be English and of a different faith to C of E.

English is not a religion, just as being Welsh is not or Scottish. England is a country in Britain or the UK. It is the church of England, see?

No it does not make it easier for a Muslim to get a mortgage than any other citizen fo the UK. Go to the bank and ask them the Terms and regulations, not ANY Muslim will be entitled if they do not meet the requirements, the same as any mortguage.

As I said it is just re-wording, so it is not seen as a loan. The banks will still be making the same amount of money, fairness is not even an issue.

Personally I think this "news" is a none issue.

The news was deemed important enough to be a title headline on the BBC News Website so I wouldn't say it was non-issue..

And it is not just a re-wording the conditions of the mortgage are very very different.... For example the average deposit in a normal loan in London is around £30k

Lloyds TSB states that they will pay 90% that means the deposit on a Muslim loan is just 10% that means it is physically easier for a Muslim to get a mortgage as they are more able to get the deposit together than anyone else.

Besides, if you are a first time buyer in England, you are unlikely to be able to afford a property anyway as you do not have the collateral to buy.... However if you are Muslim first time buyer it is relatively easy with this proposition.

Thanks, you have just shown you don't grasp the whole deal. They do not get a loan at all, that is the WHOLE point.

I suggest you go to the bank and find out the total repayment. I think you will find it to be roughly the same.
