Jeremy Corbyn has been suspended from The Labour Party because of his reaction to the publication of a report into anti-Semetism in the Party by the Equality and Human Rights Commission's report.

As he did repeatedly during his leadership he casually dismissed anti-Semetism within Labour's ranks and said it was 'dramatically overstated'.

This story is just breaking and I await the reaction and fall out with interest.....especially from Momentum.

Boris must be pissing himself laughing.....yet again when the Opposition should be crucifying the government for their incompetence Labour will be consumed by political in-fighting.

He was IMO a poor choice to lead Labour. His tone deaf attitude to the accusations didn't help his case. I wonder if Labour is trying to redefine itself as "the voice of reason" in the midst of the Brexit blows with the EU.

Cheers

Oh what a shame..the idiot who tried to make the labour party into something resembling the American fanatical far left has been booted out.
Anti Jewish, hamas loving commie corbyn never should have been anywhere near a UK political party IMO.

Can we have a proper opposition please or is that too much to ask for?

totally off topic, but I have a habit of associating a voice when I read posts. The British voices I use in my mind when reading things like this sound so much more classy than when I read American posts.

I think honestly they have been looking for an excuse to get rid of him, this is the ultimate in virtue signalling for Labour, "how can we be anti-semites when we dismissed our former leader". I think he has been a thorn in their side (which he has been) and they wanted rid of him and this is the perfect excuse, Corbyn has nobody to blame but himself, he should have just shut up.

Corbyn was a truly appalling choice as leader of The Labour Party.

He and his Momentum cronies and PC driven, champagen socialist acolytes are as far removed from traditional Labour supporters as Boris and his Old Etonian mob are.

He alienated so many dyed in the wool lifelong Labour voters that The Tories were gifted victory in the last election.

Their arrogance knows no bounds and they still believe that they are right and given the slightest opportunity they wouldn't hesitate to impose their dictates upon the country.

I never supported Keir Starmer in Labour's leadership election - I was and still am a big fan of Lisa Nandy who even though she comes from something of a political elite background she seems quite grounded and isn't afraid she speak up ans stick to her principles and opinions - but he has made a reasonably impressive start to his leadership and seems to be trying to steady the ship and dissociate the party from Corbyn and his disastrous leadership.

Labour performed so badly in the last election for two major reasons: Jeremy Corbyn and what he represents and its failure to reflect the support for Brexit in so much of its traditional heartlands.
Rectify those two issues and they'll anhilate this shower of #e we have in Westminster at present.

Possibly.

But there can be no denying there has been some rabid anti-Semitism in The Labour Party for quite a while now.

I have my own thoughts on the reasoning behind that which I think would be quite uncomfortable for some.....but true nonetheless in my opinion.

Corbyn took The Labour Party to the brink of extinction with his smug arrogance and pandering to every single minority or special interest group whilst condescendingly ignoring the cares, concerns and opinions of such a large section of its core, traditional support.

Why would anyone be surprised at his successors desire to get rid of him?

Women aren't too happy with the Labour party/leadership either:

UK women push back against calls to expel Labour party members critical of gender identity ideology under #ExpelMe

I wonder who they will alienate next?

he is 10000000 percent CORRECT.

two percenters crying over everything, and they own and rule the world.
they made up a word to describe their 'troubles'

and they made it illegal to 'question' their 'activities' in europe, canada, and australia.

the USA and Japan are now the only two first world countries with true freedom of speech, thanks to these special self described chosen.

It's a sad day for Labour and freedom of speech.

But Mr Corbyn later said the scale of anti-Semitism within Labour had been "dramatically overstated" by opponents.

A Labour spokesman said he was being suspended "for a failure to retract" his words.

"Sir" Keir Starmer is a weaselly git , I wasn't a Corbyn supporter but this move exemplifies how petty and weak the man is , no one in politics dare criticise anything the Israeli government do anymore because of politically correct idiots like Starmer.

Pathetic action taken by a pathetic man.

He just doesn't help himself does he? I don't for a second believe him to be anti Jewish but it does appear that his years of anti-zionist campaigning have fundamentally coloured his sight when it comes to Jewish issues.

Even though i am totally opposed to Corbyn's politics, i always had a soft spot for him as he actually believed what he was saying. That all seemed to change with the leadership, he was one thing trying to be another (never ends well!).

Starmer is a weasly git, best fitting description. Sadly it probably means he will prove very popular as it seemed to work for his guru the all knowing, omnipotent, high holiness the dalai Tony Blair.

Labour are a done party, this decision will split the party even further and will allow the landowners party to rule for evermore.

As Orwell said, “If you want to know who rules over you, look at who you are not allowed to criticise.”

From Boris's viewpoint, a Labour party which allows Corbyn to remain powerful must be almost as useful as the infighting necessary to drive him out. In the short term, he gains either way.

It could be argued that the infighting is advantageous to Labour in the long-term, if it rids them of the anti-Jewish element (which I take to be identical with the "let's get the islamic vote at all costs" element). Not being a Labour supporter, though, I don't mind if they don't take my advice.
