Funny, the ones that left England were persecuted because they were trying to force their religion onto everyone else in the country by taking over the government. This had gone on for about 300 years and the other people finally were fed up with it.

Go back a few more hundred years in your history study and you will learn this.

I noticed lately that people here on ATS answer posts with videos of songs that are mildly related to a topic. I am not so keen on that personally as I am quite particular in my musical taste and frankly don't see how a song or the video of a song makes any difference even if the words may mildly relate to a post.

I am not religious and I have more integrity than most [all] god lovers I have ever met. I know right from wrong all by myself, and I try to do the right thing. Isn't that scary?

I don't want religion to take over again. When the non thinkers become religious, you'll get the same palaver we have now with BLM and antifa only they will burn, murder, harrass, punish, beat up, slander, kick, incarcerate non believers.
This I didn't pull out of my backside, this is historical and present FACT.

You can't just say if they were religious, they would be all peaceful and nice. Oh no, it would be another level of violent oppression yet again and I will not replace one human made organisation with another one that has a bad track record. No way Pedro!

The original lyrics... the devil is ones own ego. The ego is the sole cause of all violence and wrongdoing in the entirety of human history. What you have done is used your own ego to blame someone else. Most would call this someone else the devil, to protect themselves from the hard truth. In today’s super divided atmosphere maybe we need a bit of introspection and self accountability to keep bad things from happening. I think the original hit the nail on the head.
