"The blacks are having lots [of] events for voter registration. People in Mississippi have to get involved, too."

Let's take this sentence apart for clarity.

"The blacks" - Obviously a statement of disdain since she's white and from the south. This is meant to separate whites from blacks in social standing, typically a lower status than whites.

"are having lots [of] events for voter registration" - She's afraid they will have more votes than in the past which could affect elections, possibly not being successful for white candidates.

"People" - This is a much stronger descriptor, meaning whites are people, blacks are not.

"have to get involved too" - black voter suppression possibly?

Just because I'm a pasty-white, middle-aged male doesn't mean I don't recognize racist bull# when I see it. She's clearly a southern white racist to the core.

Prove me wrong.

I'm so angry, I may knock over a statue.

Of Jesus.

White Jesus or black Jesus?

Good question, since he's the son of God, what color was God?

God is a spirit and spirits are white in the movies.

Only the good ones.

Seen Ghost?

Maybe db would feel better if he knocked over a statue of Patrick swayze.

White light is the sum of ALL colors.

I believe her, that she was not trying to be racist.
Her words showed that she is a natural, and no trying was necessary.

That's a given, still it's fascinating reading all the excuses people are trying to make for her.

Interesting point.

I know several people, including family, who use terms like "the blacks" (and there are a few on ATS) when generalizing. While I would not call them racist per se, it's unconscious in their upbringing but still racist on its face.

So it's unconscious racism, but racism all the same, even if "the blacks" attend your church, or "the blacks" own a restaurant you like to visit, etc.

That could have been worded better.

That could have been worded better?
She was clearly stating all the extra black voters were a concern, very clearly worded

Worded better, clearly she doesn’t like black people voting. Worded better, just accept it
Got to be as mentally deficient as your leader to say that

So , now you are using your thoughts to explain what others say ?
You one of them thar "thought police" ?

Ok serious questions.

Do you know this woman?
Do you know one thing about her other than that one sentence?
Is she a democrat or republican?
Is her husband black?
Is she married?
Is she pro trump?

Are you actually going to judge this woman over one sentence?
I’m not willing to do that without a bit more background.

Hey OP, serious question.

Where's your ####ing "outrage" over the toppling of the statue of Fredrick Douglass?

Or are you now supporting tearing down statues of critical black leaders during the reach for freedom.

Didn't see too much anger in that from the left, sh#t, haven't seen much at all to be honest.

Is he what you call an "Uncle Tom" and deserving of erradication?

Just curious.

Politics. If she is a Conservative

And there are no conservative black voters? Nope, she just focused on the blacks.

It's not just 'politics'.

Where's your thread about it if it's important enough? This isn't what the OP is about. If there's none, go start a thread. Simple.

a reply to: Bluntone22Self Attribution Bias, the user is simply setting opinion as fact as experienced and percieved by it, typical logical fallacies the left employ, real easy to spot.

I have no opinion on this drama, let the emotions and faux outrage ensue!

Worded poorly, but pretty much a nothingburger.

Yep, an elections official in a deep south state with a history of Jim Crow, racial restrictive laws complained about blacks registering to vote..... that's a nothing burger. Sure.

Did she do anything to prevent registrations? What actions did she take to hamper the vote?
