Noqoìlpi built Las Vegas as we know it today.

Not sure if Skunk Works is the right place to post this but non of the other sections seem right.

For those unfamiliar with the name, Noqoìlpi is a trickster/gambler god in Navajo/Pueblos myth. In the story (rough summery) Noqoìlpi appeared to the Pueblo people and gambled with them and always won. First he one their possessions then their houses, then their children, then their women and finally their men. Noqoìlpi then told them that they could have parts of their freedom back by building the city’s in the cliffs. The Pueblo people did so but the god kept gambling. Eventually the other gods took pity on the people and intervened by helping the Pueblo cheat and win back everything Noqoìlpi had taken from them. The gods then banished Noqoìlpi but not before he cursed the Pueblo villages and cities they built.

Now apart from being the cultural reason the Pueblo and Navajo people abandon their villages and cities I can’t help see it as a description of the City of Las Vegas.

A gambler that always wins = the house always wins.
People gambling away there possessions and property and end up working for the people they lost to and building a city.

The only difference between Vegas and Noqoìlpi that I can see is that people aren’t gambling away their families but that’s only because slavery is illegal.

I don’t know maybe I’m crazy.

I'm more inclined to think Satan built Vegas, and before that, Hollywood.

Sounds as plausible as an India Media Company stating it was an American who first conquered Mt Everest.

Mount Everest, the world's highest peak with the height of 8,884 meters, has been the main source of income for the landlocked nation. It was first ascended by Sir Edmund Hillary, an American and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, a Nepali, on May 29, 1953

Well at least they didn't go as far as saying Mt Everest was named after an American. For anyone who don't know it was a Brit.

As above, so below.

There are realities in the spiritual realm that are played out or reflected in the physical. I can see some spiritual reality or spiritual principle being worked out on a big scale.

Ok so Edmund Hillary was really an Australian then

Anyway, interesting assumption re Las Vegas.
What’s the child abandonment rate, abortion and divorce rate like in LV, worse than other places.
Might as well feed the premise, stealing or gambling children into slavery may have other associates

No, as it turns out, any famous, intelligent or mildly interesting New Zealander becomes Australian. Mostly because people don’t know, havnt heard or are just not interested in New Zealand
Of course with exception of Jacinda Ahern, we don’t want another lying photo opportunist politician that looks good but does nothing
