Now, the government isn't helping by incentivising loans with low interest rates... Which I've personally seen an uptick in unsolicited offers myself for new lines of credit...

We're in a really bad situation right now, one that I'd put blame on the government in a lot of ways. But I think the biggest problem in society is the perceived bigotry behind the notion of personal responsibility.

This is an idea worth talking more about.

It doesn't sound like a, 'Socialist' coup to me, it sounds like the money is going to big business who never got over their losses, etc, since 2009, and indeed are pretty much in trouble now...so to think in a conspiratorial way, this is a President who is taking public money to give to the poor ahem, while Landlord Rachman, AKA Mnuchin, takes it off them through the back door.

Jeez, a kickback to Mnuchin...et al, might be in order Feck!

Not one instance of 100% forfeitures.

Intercepted. Full seizure is not an issue unless you know of any.

I know of families in hardship because the "law caused an embelishment" so they are absolved...kmon!

Yikes, to know you and have to listen to you must be mind numbing. Do you have any actual knowledge at all. There are several stipulations regarding student loans. Try googling that student loan coronavirus. Also, those owing back child support will have those amounts deducted from their stimulus payment. Not sure how that means deadbeat parents are be "bailed out."

It's not the government garnishing. The bank has been given permission to skim your funds away if you owe them money.

I don't borrow where I bank so it doesn't affect me, but man, this is awful!

Some governors have already signed orders to lockout banks and credit collections from being able to garnish or seize funds during this time.

Not sure if that includes child support though. Washington state governor as rotten as he is, has locked out banks and collections from taking any money from debtors no matter what it is. So he's done one or two good things to help people out of the thousands of other things that harm people.

I thought that was the fed guidelines. If governors aren't on board, then that's an entirely different subject.
I have no issues with my state's governor's actions at this point. Not appreciating the "no-I-won't"ers right now.

Ahh... yup, owe them money....you pay but not 100% of the check unless one agrees...

Btw...where would the money come from unless otherwise?

Choose wisely in comments.

I like seeing citizens protected during a crisis like this, and it is a very rare thing to see. Several Trump hating governors are also doing other things to seize power and exercise powers that they never had nor do they legally have according to the constitution they swore to uphold and defend when they were inaugurated, but they never intended to honor that, and their actions prove this.
But like a broken clock sort of, they can be right sometimes.

My statements were not specific to the OP, but a comment on infomation I found regarding the 4th Industrial Revolution plan and the new digitial currency that will be used across 5G - and how everthing else we are witnessing is a symptom of that plan.

In the 4th Industrial Revolutin 85% of coventional jobs and workers are no longer needed. This is publicly availbale data, but they are banking on 99% of the public beiing completely ignorant, and distracted with this "pandemic".

Who owns the banks? Who prints the money?
Who's at the helm of the new digital currency?
You need to think bigger.

Politians aren't at the helm, that's for sure.

Oh, and the new economy will be called a "Resource based economy" and they'll be using Bitminute on Blockchain 7.3.

According to the Bedeco Economic Zone, anyway.

The Treasury Department last week gave U.S. financial institutions the go-ahead to seize coronavirus stimulus payments to pay off individuals' outstanding debts, and one of the nation's largest banks is reportedly already taking advantage of the green light.

As it should be.

Now that we've got that settled, let's go and get all the monies owed by big banks and bigger corporations. Let's go find all the corrupted dollars that landed in the pockets of corrupt politicians and their nasty little offspring.

Those that can't (or won't) pay ... put a gladius into their hand and send them into The Arena.

I was speaking specifically to federal dollars (our dollars) paying for others debt in general. I will not support that.

$1200 going out to citizens is fine with me. Not very meaningful when you consider the cost to Joe Public when this is all said and done. Pretty pathetic when we consider the amount poured into banks and other wall street entities.

To me it's a few coins thrown at the masses to make them forget they are getting fleeced yet again. The buying power of their money has shrunk yet again but by-God they got a new flat screen!

This can't be argued, I think you're exactly right, and a big reason on why we're here.

But, notice how hardly anyone said a damn word. Because they got 1,200 dollars.

The left kind of just cucked up and said cool deal because unemployment bonuses and 1,200 dollars. And the right can't criticize Trump even when he spends more than Obama.

Either way, I hold society more accountable than politicians. Politicians are doing the same thing they've done for decades.

Maybe in the U.S, but not around the rest of the world.

Do all right wing thinking people believe Trump is top dog? Probably.

I don’t know much about the bills, but your language regarding the left was open to challenge.

Is it wrong for the President to assist people in these unprecedented times?

He’s got it all under control though, no other President has had it under control, ever under control.

A lot of strange misspells there, for a UK person, but I digress.
Of course it's well known, and has been for many years that a huge workforce is not needed in big manufacturing, that is a problem that has been going on for years, virtual reality will not solve that problem any day soon, and no matter what is done, the power of cash, will be what's most important. The monetary paradigm needs to be based in a reality barter.
The thing is, cash is not that pleasant to handle nor carry about, while digital One's and Zero's are squeaky clean simply because they don't actually exist. You are back to barter then, something the Russians were forced to do in the face of 'secret' Reaganomics back in the 1990's, which was pretty cruel on ordinary Russians, when even Russian companies issued vouchers as an alternative to money....you need to think bigger.
