She also banned people who own second homes from coming into the state to use them. If that carries into the summer, it will completely destroy a large part of Michigan's economy since a lot of the small towns depend on the summer vacation money to survive.

States that chose to lock down tightly are losing a lot of revenues from laid off employees not paying taxes and also sales taxes.

Illinois revenue is down 67% over the last 30 days.

That's one reason why Democrats in the house are demanding that the next rescue package contain hundreds of billions of dollars for states and city governments.

And why Senate Democrats blocked McConnell from adding another 250 billion dollars to the small-business rescue fund this week.

I've been saying since the start of this bailout stuff that the states with budget problems might try to tank their budgets on purpose and them try to get a federal bailout by blaming the virus because they know it wouldn't be at all popular or likely under any other circumstances.

They think they might get away with it through this.

The states with the biggest budget shortfalls were the first to lock down.
