Particles from a cough can remain suspended in the air for 10 minutes. Aerosolized coronavirus can live for 3 hours, especially at night when not under the UV of the Sun. A stiff breeze moves at about 5 meters/second.

Putting all that together, the live virus could easily travel 3km, equivalent to 1.8 miles, in fairly normal conditions.

However, the virus is not that infective. It requires repeated contact and usually direct with eyes, nose or mouth. That is why the distancing rules work at all.

I think they mean in confined spaces.

Think of a fart. If you can smell it should they rip thats too close.

Unless you are outside you could breathe the stuff they put into the air.

Oh dear, and then apparently it can hang in the air for three hours, or something.

I just wonder, if soap is so good for removing it from the hands, perhaps we should all be blowing soap bubbles into the air.

Imagine all the public places get a soap bubble machine that blows thousands of soap bubbles into the air.

Banking and grocery shopping could become like a foam party!

Well, if that could keep businesses open, it will be there in a week.

27 feet?

27?

Not 30? That's a relief.

When it first say, stand 3 feet apart then 6 feet. Apparently, 6 feet are no longer safe, it can travel up to 27 feet, new studies found.

What's next? Start pratice social distancing 28 feet/9meter

Covid-19 27 feet

Not unless you shoot it out of a gun...And likely not then either...

Well, I'll just point out that that researcher is basically saying any virus can travel that far - because they are just talking about how far droplets can travel from a simple sneeze. This means it goes for colds and flu too.

Sorry, why don't you just go buy a big plastic bubble and move in, and leave the rest of us sane people alone.

It's in everything I watch, just about every TV series uses these numbers all the time, and the lightning bolt next to the eye. My dob also follows that trend 08.01.1980

The FBI get 9.6 billion a year to spend I was just looking at.

It's everywhere in everything and those in the know use these numbers all the time, check JK Rowling twitter and how many they follow, it's plain to see, it everywhere and it has meaning.
It's in everything in my life from my national insurance number to my uni I'd... Everything.
And I'm still not sure what it means, but I know what the lightning bolt means.
