U.S. Health Workers Responding to Coronavirus Lacked Protective Gear

With 'only' a 2% kill rate, perhaps that's why some programmed exposure is being orchestrated to insure testing of immune response across American population?

Woild not be at all surprised top researchers at WHO and such would love to compare a US outbreak to China's, generating scientific findings & fatter funding

Because coronavirus in the u.s. is no more serious than the common flu, not wearing protective gear is nothing to get bent out of shape about.

CDC announcements seem to contradict how harmless it is

That is because it was so deadly in China.

If you notice, the major news outlets are shifting their focus away from the disease itself, to how much disruption it is causing in the markets and Supply system.

There are several US news outlets who are praying that the lady in California dies, so they will have something new and Dire to warn us about.

You might say your opinion is a bit cavalier...?

None of us here are experts in the field of infectious disease ..no?

Gotta love how the workers in the factory are bagging up masks with their bare hands

That’s weird because of all the news sites and channels that I flip between, not a single one has wished upon her.
Seems like maybe you do though.

It isn’t like Corona Virus is the Bubonic Plague. It is a virulent flu. Most people will survive it just fine. If you get it you will likely be fine...especially if you are under 65 years old.

The economic repercussions will be the biggest problem with the Wu Flu and even those will likely drive U.S. manufacturing to bring more jobs home instead of relying on China for all their supply chain.

I seriously think this line of "it is no worse than the flu" is the canned statement to keep the public from panicking. The response should tell everyone something.

We shall see in a few more weeks as it spreads. I do not believe it will be no worse than the flu then. Time will tell.

Exactly.

Trump came out swinging for local and domestic.

Now that a virus has been raging thru the monopolistic centers of cheap labor, people are starting to see the merit of local and domestic production as a means to hedge agaisnt this misspractice.

There is nothing wrong with Trade, however, it has to be equal and reciprocal.

I thought flu was something like 0.5% mortality rate. If coronavirus is 2.5% then its literally 5x worse than the flu, which still is not that bad really. Is it worse than the flu? Absolutely. Am I concerned about an emerging pandemic? Technically it is a pandemic already, affecting the population across the world, though it does not present itself as a particularly deadly virus unless it infects the lungs. Pulmonary fibrosis is a painful death sentence that is likely to drag on for 2 to 5 years -- You would probably rather be dead. This is why everyone says to take vitamin d3. It helps protect the lungs and improve lung funtion.

The people saying that a 2% mortality rate is nothing are either spewing the government line in support of their politics or have no understanding of what they’re talking about. Likely both.

The Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918 had a similar mortality rate. If it gets out of hand we’re probably looking at around 350 million dead worldwide.

Maybe the virus is part of bring jobs back to America, kill off the cheap China labor and make America great again. More job less Chinese.

the problem is the inter-nationalists who 'own' the world have been protocoling for a one world scenario since the mid 1800s OR earlier.

they realized how powerful our rebublik was, and they set out to destroy her.

thats why they destroyed the farming system (they could not let us be self sustained)
they destroyed our manufacturing (we made 95% of the worlds products in early 1900s.)
they destroyed our educational system (they keep making education more complicated, see the 'new math' and they did this in the early 1900s as well.)
they destroyed our borders (letting in all the illegals, lowering down our standards of living, and education)

so much more.
these inter-nationalists are just vying for profit and power.

2% mortality rate of those infected.

One has to actually catch it to potentially die from it.

I didn't catch swine flu despite living with someone that did.

Come on now. Lets assume the entire world (7.56 billion) caught coronavirus. You would have to break it out by demographics to be fair but using 2% average you can divide your number in half and subtract 50 million. You did 5% in your calc.

Yeah i dont see a lot of adults over 30 years old freaking out except attention seekers. Perhaps millenials are scurred on account of their entitlement. 350m was an insane number unless it mutates into something worse.
