I don't go hang out in certain inner city areas of Los Angeles.

Awareness of your "environment" is not exclusive to any one thing.

It's funny that the city of Torrance, which is the heart of the South Bay area, was a longtime KKK stronghold. The police had a reputation for stopping and harassing anyone of color who would unknowingly drive through the beach cities. I guess understanding "the logic of awareness" still applies today.
